I make a habit of #CountingBlessings. Over the years, Harvey Young has certainly been in the number. Still, his generosity manifests on a whole other level in this conversation!!! Harvey is part of why I understand what a gift it is to have what Toni Morrison called “a friend of your mind.” PLEASE READ & SHARE WIDELY! On October 21st, I'm hosting a Watch Party fundraiser to support B’s Frito Pollo, a local food truck that has become a staple in the Playa del Carmen community. We're screening a special, on-location Black Expat Stories episode that highlights the remarkable journey of B. Roberson, a woman who left the U.S. and defied the odds to build her business from the ground up. Her story is a reminder of the strength and audacity it takes to turn a dream into reality, especially when the world is hell-bent on telling us “no.” In the U.S., Black women are the fastest-growing group of entrepreneurs, but we receive less than HALF of 1% of all venture capital funding. And yet, we rise. We’ve been rising for GENERATIONS - against every institutionalized barrier and every systemic hurdle - ALWAYS making a way out of no way. The truth is that businesses need capital to thrive. Too often, Black women entrepreneurs are left to fend for ourselves. Despite these challenges, we’ve learned to lean on each other and tap into the power of community. This Watch Party is a chance for us to unite and rally around B’s Frito Pollo for an evening of storytelling, celebration, and giving back. So, if you’re in the area, JOIN US! Plus, we have incredible raffle prizes - all donated by local artisans, restaurants, and entrepreneurs. All proceeds raised will go toward supporting B's Frito Pollo. Competition makes us faster, but COLLABORATION makes us stronger. The community here in Playa del Carmen knows this well, and this event is a testament to that spirit. It shows us that even in an unpredictable economy, THE POWER OF COMMUNITY IS OUR GREATEST ASSET. PDC locals and visitors can learn more and RSVP at: https://lnkd.in/eM-faBVc Or, if you can't make it, but would like to donate, visit: https://lnkd.in/eW__XjyG

August is National Black Business Month, and it's a time to shine a spotlight on the incredible Black-owned businesses in our community. So, remember that interview I did with La La Anthony last year? It's only right that I pull it out the archives because she talked about how crucial it is for Black businesses to be visible and supported by their communities. She also stressed the importance of consumers researching and supporting businesses aligned with their values. If you're ready to spark real change: • Follow Black-owned businesses on social media. • Shop at Black-owned businesses and share your favorite finds. • Spread the word: Tell your friends and family about these amazing businesses. • Donate: Support organizations that empower Black entrepreneurs. • Share your favorite Black-owned businesses in the comments below. ⬇️ And for those of you dreaming of starting your own business, La La’s advice is to ask yourself: "Am I passionate about this idea, and am I ready to put in the hard work?" ✨

💡For Oprah, money is all about energy exchange, following the law of cause and effect. She gives her energy to her work, and in return, is rewarded with a different form of energy—money. It's a tool that allows her to acquire necessities, enhance her quality of life, and help others reach their fullest potential. Despite her immense wealth and success, Oprah understands that she is not defined by her income or the lifestyle it affords her. She lets money serve its purpose, but she doesn't live to serve money. 👑This mindset has propelled Oprah to become the Queen of media, with a net worth of 3 billion USD. She used her influence to create a media empire, leveraging her popularity on The Oprah Winfrey Show to build a production business, magazine, and cable network. 💪 📖Let's take a page from Oprah's wisdom and focus on the value we bring to the world, knowing that true success comes from passion, purpose, and making a positive impact. 💪 #moneymindset #passionoverprofit #BusinessAndFinance #TheStoryBookAfrica

This month, at Porter Novelli we made history with our first-ever global Jack and Bill Week of Service. All our offices worldwide united to make a significant #impact on our communities, from painting and cooking to beach clean-ups and packing food for food banks. These experiences empower us as a team and strengthen our commitment to social well-being and community development. Volunteering within companies is crucial because: -Enhances Teamwork: Participating in volunteer activities improves cohesion and collaboration among colleagues. -Promotes Social Responsibility: Companies can make a real difference in their communities by contributing to important causes and supporting local organizations. -Develops Skills: Volunteering isn't just about giving back; it's also about personal growth. It's an opportunity for employees to develop new skills and competencies outside their usual work environment. -Reinforces Corporate Values: Companies demonstrate their values and commitment to corporate social responsibility by engaging in volunteer activities. I want to thank all my colleagues who participated and the organizations we partnered with for making this week a success. 🌍💪 #Volunteering #SocialResponsibility #PNProud #JackAndBill #PorterNovelli
We’re #PNProud to have recently celebrated our first ever Jack & Bill Week Of Service. Across the globe our regional offices got out into the community to give back. From painting and cooking to beach cleans and food bank packing, it was an empowering and important experience. We would like to thank all our staff who participated and all the worthwhile organisations we worked with to make it such a successful week. #DoingBusinessBetter #PNDayofService #GivingBack

Have Black Accredited Investors [ SOLD OUT ] The Black Community? Hi Elizabeth Leiba: Thank you for your most recent post and video on LinkedIn (“How To Sell To The Negro, 1954”). https://lnkd.in/eh3xfW-e I am a fan of your work to uplift Black people. I believe that the attached YouTube video: [ “Trick Baby 1974 Dinner Scene” ] is a great example of how the so called educated Black social class (i.e.: Black Accredited Investors) has [ SOLD OUT ] the Black community in America. In the last three years, I have raised [ One Million Dollars ] from Black accredited investors [ via LinkedIn ] to invest with Black real estate entrepreneurs in Black communities. Considering the high salaries earned by Black accredited investors on LinkedIn, a million dollars [ IS A JOKE ]. ********************************** I thank [ God for Black women accredited investors ] who have stepped up in a big way to invest in my real estate fund! ********************************** The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission defines an accredited investor as someone with an annual income of $200,000 or more. The crazy part is that my fund generates [ a 50% rate of return ] on invested capital. Equity Investors: 1 - 20% preferred rate of return or 50% of the profits (whichever is greater) for those who invest $100,000 or more. 2 - 15% preferred rate of return or 50% of the profits (whichever is greater) for those who invest $99,000 or less. Debt Investors: 1 - 15% annual interest rate (simple interest) for those who invest $50,000 or more. 2 - 10% annual interest rate (simple interest) for those who invest $49,000 or less. (3 year term/interest paid annually). For a copy of our Private Placement Memorandum/PPM (i.e.: Investment Documents), contact Thomas Lopez-Pierre. Email me at info@blackrealestateforum.com. Minimum Investment: $10,000. Learn more at: https://lnkd.in/eev9VgKR Every racial group is [ GETTING RICH OFF ] investing in residential real estate in Black communities, except Black people. I receive several calls a week from Black real estate entrepreneurs [ PLEADING FOR HELP ] raising investment capital for their real estate projects. In 2025, I plan to launch a [ NEW debt fund ] that will seek to raise investment capital from Non-Black accredited investors. I can [ NO longer stand by ] and let Black real estate entrepreneurs continue to [ FAIL ] because Black accredited investors [ REFUSE ] to invest with Black real estate entrepreneurs. One of the main reasons we have so many [ Black men incarcerated ] is because Black accredited investors have [ REFUSED ] to invest in Black economic empowerment. If you have [ any ideas ] on how we Black people can increase the number of Black people that work together to “Build Wealth and Create Jobs for Black People,” count me in. Call me directly at 646-527-1116. All the best, Thomas Lopez-Pierre
