Pauline Gillingham’s Post

With an 85 year heritage, Citizens Advice is up there with the best when it comes to UK brand recognition - 92% awareness. And yet there's a real gap in public understanding when it comes to the organisation's independent charity status (hence the new brand campaign this year). Yes... we're self funded, like every other independent charity! We rely on DONATIONS to keep doing the amazing work we do, offering free, impartial advice and info to people up and down the UK, when they need it most. As I was reminded by a brave senior comms professional's post that hit my feed today, we're not for 'other people'. We're a charity working for the whole of society. Taking on issues that can affect every single one of us, at any time. Triggers like the loss of a job, marriage breakdown, bereavement or diagnosis of serious illness, send people our way; circumstances that can happen to anyone. If you want to support your nearest and dearest, consider donating to your local Citizens Advice. The people's champion.
