Yesterday, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Industry-Academic Roundtable ‘Make Digitalisation Work for Construction’ yesterday at the Centre for Smart Modern Construction and Western Sydney University This event was a fantastic platform to kick-start vital discussions on how we can drive digitalisation in the construction industry and how supportive policies can facilitate this transformation. Professor Srinath Perera brought together a truly remarkable group of participants, and it was both an honour, and very humbling, to be part of such a diverse and insightful group. Thank you, Angus Greenwood - Head of Data, Technology & Systems at Mainbrace Constructions Pty Ltd, Meghann Sikorski - Program Manager at NSW Office of the Building Commissioner and NSW Department of Customer Service Service and Dr Laura Florez-Perez - Associate Professor at Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction and UCL Engaging with these industry leaders, sharing ideas, and contributing to the evolving landscape of construction was truly inspiring. We explored practical ways to integrate digitalisation into everyday construction practices and discussed the future of our industry with enthusiasm and vision. Digitalisation is driving efficiency, cutting costs, and improving project outcomes. From Building Information Modelling (BIM) to real-time project management software like Commnia, digital tools are pivotal in streamlining operations and ensuring competitiveness in a global market. Here's why it matters: Efficiency and Productivity: Tools like BIM and mobile apps automate processes, enhancing collaboration and reducing rework. Cost Management: Real-time financial tracking prevents budget overruns and optimises resource allocation. Quality and Compliance: Digital inspections and automated reporting uphold standards and meet regulatory requirements. Collaboration: Cloud platforms facilitate seamless communication across dispersed teams, critical in Australia's geographically diverse projects. Risk Management: Predictive analytics identify and mitigate risks, crucial in managing challenges like weather impacts. Sustainability: Digital solutions promote eco-friendly practices, aligning with Australia's focus on sustainable construction. Client Satisfaction: Transparent project updates via digital portals foster trust and satisfaction. Despite these benefits, barriers like resistance to change and regulatory hurdles persist, hindering widespread adoption. Overcoming these challenges requires a concerted effort from organisations, policymakers, and the broader industry. Together, we are paving the way for a future where technology and construction come together to push boundaries and unlock new possibilities. Let's drive forward together towards a digitally empowered future in construction! #DigitalTransformation #Construction #Innovation #Policy #Technology #C4SMC #IndustryRoundtable #FutureOfConstruction

How can digitisation drive efficiency in construction? 👷 Four years after its debut, the Construction Playbook continues to shape the industry, emphasising the need for better digitisation and smarter ways of working at every stage. However, achieving this is easier said than done as the public sector still faces many hurdles. Our Head of Partnerships and Integrations, Charley Wainwright, joined industry experts Karen Carter and Jacqueline Byrne in the recent Pagabo Live session to dig deeper into how technology can bridge these gaps. Check out our latest blog for the key takeaways from the session: 👉 https://lnkd.in/ee5z2xaq #Construction #ContractManagement #PagaboLive #Digitisation
