🇺🇿 Over half of #Uzbekistan’s 37 million population currently lives in urban areas. By 2050, this number is projected to grow by 50%, surpassing 25 million. 🌐 To help the country effectively address the challenges and opportunities of rapid urban growth, we support the government through Bank-funded projects and technical assistance. Our efforts focus on developing urban infrastructure, creating green and climate-resilient cities, and building capacity to deliver municipal services. We also assist in implementing urban and territorial planning reforms. 🤝 This week, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and our international partners, we organized a forum focusing on the government’s efforts to adapt regions and cities to #climatechange, enhance #DisasterResilience, and advance reforms in territorial development planning. 📺 Watch this video featuring my brief intervention that explains the purpose and expected results of this event. 🔎 Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eNvzucEB #UrbanDevelopment #ClimateResilience #WorldBankforUzbekistan #WBforUZ Christoph Pusch Mohamed Nada Axel Baeumler Anita Ellmauer-Klambauer Lola Vico
