Design and engineering is pointless If you don’t have an idea of the end goal. Or if you don’t place value on the steps within the process. Start with a concept, build out a design, engineer the details. Having worked with multiple clients over the years, so many are willing to try skip one part or the other. Both are necessary. In industrial and infrastructure builds, the process needs to be followed. Start with a concept, build out the design, engineer the details. It works. Skip a step or only partially complete some aspect, and it continues to bite the heels of the project all the way until construction is complete, often well after facility operations have started. Site and Head office design : The class difference. Same engineer working in head office and at physical installation place are termed like this. There is class difference. I have seen how a design engineer is received at site during a visit as if he belongs to superior class. I have proven in my life, there is no difference. It is quite possible for operation and maintenance engineers stationed at site to design a new project if they wish so. So I invoke site engineers, throw out the word site and erase out the difference . you can design it also. Designing power system is not a great thing as design engineers with no touch with ground think. Now the trend is to station design engineers at site and handle installed plant for few years . You always can not throw rotten apple to site and ask them to eat. #SiteEngineer
