Ah, LinkedIn's subtle nudge about my #WorkAnniversary month has prompted me to take a moment of reflection, accompanied by a delightful celebratory cake! This month marks my 9 incredible years at #Accenture! Looking back, I'm filled with gratitude for the opportunities, challenges, and growth that have sculpted my career thus far. Throughout this journey, #change has been the only constant. The past two years, in particular, have brought a significant metamorphosis in my role within the #TalentBrand space and in how Accenture has empowered us with #AI tools. These innovations have boosted our efficiency and allowed us to prioritize strategic initiatives that truly move the needle. Of course, no journey is without its hurdles. There have been challenges, conflicts, and difficult conversations along the way. But each of these experiences has been a stepping stone, shaping me into a more resilient person and a better professional. This year has been particularly trying on a personal level, but the support from my manager and colleagues has been nothing short of extraordinary. Their empathy and understanding have served as a powerful reminder that I'm part of a team that genuinely cares about one another. 9 years may seem like a long time, but when you're surrounded by incredible people and doing work that ignites your passion, time truly does fly. 🎉 A year ago today - 28/11/2023 🎉 I made a decision that changed everything. I gave up something that had supported my lifestyle for so long—something that many people take years to move away from. I gave up my FINANCIAL DEPENDENCY. I took the first step towards self-reliance. As someone who had never lived away from home or studied in a new city, moving to a completely different state with no one I knew was a leap of faith. The past year has been a whirlwind of highs and lows, shaking up my routine in more ways than one. But in every moment—both challenging and rewarding—I learned invaluable lessons, both professionally and personally. Here are just a few: I learned independence I learned when to speak up and when to listen I mastered the art of prioritization I learned how to survive month-ends (we all know the struggle 😅) Most importantly, I learned how to become a better version of myself. It’s only been 366 days, but looking back, it feels like so much more. And that makes me even more excited about what the future holds. 🚀 I’m incredibly grateful for the experiences, the people I've met, and the growth I've achieved. I loved speaking to them! They are the team working for one of our major clients in Australia. All in their 20s... I shared my leadership values and principles, which have made my career, and my life, great (yep! I love my life! I think it's great! 😎 ) Here they are: ✅ "Shoot for the moon; you will fly among the stars". Dare to dream big! If your dreams don't scare you, they are not big enough. Right? ✅ "If you have a good excuse, don’t use it". Take responsibility for everything in your life. Never blame negative events or people. Move on, despite them, and forget. And forgive. ✅ "Be grateful, there is abundance in the Universe". Remove scarcity and competitive thoughts. Be creative. Help others succeed. ✅ "Private success is the foundation of private success". Fix your private life before trying to succeed in your career. A beautiful family and trusted friends are the real diamonds. ✅ "We are the average of the five people we spend most time with". Today was my last day at Accenture Song 🟣 To be honest, I never imagined pursuing a career in consultancy, but when the opportunity came, it quickly turned into one of my accomplishments. When you study marketing, consultancy isn’t usually the first thing that comes to mind, right? But once you start seeing it as a possibility, a whole new world opens up. You begin to dream about high-impact roles, the corporate world, sleek office buildings, constant learning, and a team of people all striving to be their best in an environment that supports growth and innovation. And that’s exactly what it was, an exciting, fast-paced journey full of learning and growth. Every day felt like a step forward. I was constantly surrounded by brilliant, passionate people, each one pushing the limits of what’s possible. From the cutting-edge processes to the cultural initiatives that fostered collaboration and excellence, Accenture was a place where the pursuit of greatness was always at the forefront. And I was lucky enough to join the incredible, Data & AI team, where everyone was not just talented but genuinely kind. I’d heard so many stories about the challenges of consultancy, burnouts, micromanagers, constant pressure, sleepless nights, and while I know these can be part of the reality in some environments, my experience at Accenture was nothing short of amazing. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I felt empowered. Instead of competition, I found collaboration. Instead of stress, I found a culture of support. It’s rare to find a workplace where people truly have each other's backs, and I am so grateful to have had that here. The challenges we faced were real, but so was the sense of accomplishment and the incredible growth I experienced along the way. Every project felt like an opportunity to learn, and every challenge was a lesson in perseverance. And the best part? The constant investment in training and development. I am proud to say I am taking on a new project within Accenture but I want to reflect on my last project as I prepare for a new role. Last week marked my final week with my incredible team since returning to Accenture in 2022. When I came back, I joined a well-established sales team that had gone through a lot of leadership turnover and had struggled to consistently hit their goals. They needed a leader who would truly support them, take the time to learn and understand their challenges, and guide them through the tough moments. As a "people first" leader, I believe empathy is key—even when it’s hard, it's always worth it. Over the last two years, I’ve had the privilege of watching this team grow, and I am so proud of what we accomplished together. We didn’t just hit our goals consistently—we built a culture of support, trust, and high morale. On my last day the team surprised me with a post full of well wishes as I prepared to move on, and I was completely overcome with emotions. It’s a reminder of the power of putting people first, even when the journey gets tough. Thank you to my amazing team for everything—you’ve made these two years unforgettable.
