We love the personal achievements of everyone in the parkrun community 🧡
Congratulations to Nick Griggs on setting a new fastest parkrun time of 13:44 at Belfast Victoria parkrun on Saturday.
This was one of an amazing 51,356 parkrun PBs set this weekend. Well done everyone 🙌

#cassioburyparkun. This is the most amazing achievement and it’s good to celebrate success. As we are doing that can you consider doing the same for Cassiobury Park, Watford legend Sarah Roberts who is breaking over-75 world best times for fun currently. This includes last week (2/11/24) a PB parkrun time of 21:24 at #Rickmansworthparkrun with an age grade of 113.32%, even ahead of the brilliant Nick Griggs. There was also this 10,000m world best time ran in October. https://athleticsweekly.com/event-reports/sarah-roberts-runs-world-age-75-best-of-4433-over-10km-1039993426/

Keep on shining the word of this dialogue of control, torture, and assaults against our children of the world. Your work and dedication are superior and mind-numbing to the senses. It's not an easy subject to read, yet it is the most important book on the internet.
In every neighborhood around the world, a child is being sold online from their home by either a parent, family member or local human trafficking gang. Every 3 seconds a child goes missing in the USA. 90 percent of them were at one time or another found on pornhub or other dating sites by predators.
After they are drugged and sold online. These children can not escape even if they want to. We have to go find them in the silence and bring them home.
We must demand life in prison or the death penalty for folks involved in any form of child human trafficking and permanently close down companies that participate in these crimes against humanity and not allow them to reopen in other names.
Pray that we find them before their handlers put them 6 feet under, because they used them up mentally and physically, and they want a fresh new child to rape and torture

As a former Parks and Recreation professional I can say the episodes I did watch did have some similarities.
There are many days I miss the profession, being surrounded by so many peers who are very passionate about their careers.
Parks and Recreation professionals provide programs and services for people when they are not working. Thus, typically involves many nights and weekends. Parks and Recreation professionals also where many hats. Marketing, Budgeting, Leadership, and Creative Programming. If you were in facilities you also developed a skill set in understanding Safety, OSHA, Project Management, Janitorial, HVAC, Electrical and unfortunately Plumbing.
Hats off to my past professional peers, colleagues, friends.

Park and recreation professionals often get asked, “Is it like the show?”
The show in question is the sitcom Parks and Recreation. Leslie Knope, deputy director of the parks department in fictional Pawnee, Indiana, wants to beautify her town by assisting local nurse Ann Perkins in transforming an abandoned construction site into a communal park. Numerous obstacles impede the progress of what ought to be a rather straightforward project! It’s hilarious, but is it an accurate depiction of working for a park and recreation department in local government? The answer is yes! Well, sort of.

I PLEDGE my HEAD to clearer thinking,
my HEART to greater loyalty,
my HANDS to larger service,
and my HEALTH to better living,
for my family, my club, my community, my country and my world.
This is the 4-H Pledge that youth and adults recite at the opening of each meeting. In the spirit of that pledge to clearer thinking, we ask “is there a future for 4-H in Sherburne County?”
Last summer, the 4-H horse project funded and painted the barns to freshen them up for fair. Imagine the disappointment as everything the kids worked to prepare for was deluged with rain through the failing roofs on the horse barns as several waves of extreme weather occurred during fair week. The normal flurry of excitement was replaced with an all-out scramble to shift horses to higher ground and wait out the storm while also scrambling to save thousands of dollars’ worth of hay, feed, show clothes, tack and equipment. This is one of many issues that need to be addressed to deal with aging infrastructure and the future of the county fairgrounds.
The county has indicated at various times the desire to sell and redevelop the property the fairground occupies. That constant fear of being evicted from the fairgrounds has not served the best interests of the youth or the community at large. Sherburne County businesses and residents are overwhelmingly supportive of 4-H programming when made aware of needs and how they can help. But who will invest in updating and improving the aging infrastructure of a fairgrounds under constant threat of eviction and redevelopment of the property? If the long-range plan is to relocate the fairgrounds, then please, let us begin the dialogue to plan out a timeline and details for beginning that endeavor. We need to at least work together to solve the immediate issues to serve our youth of today as well as plan for the future of our youth. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Please, let us not fail our youth any longer.

Note: this letter was sent to all Sherburne County commissioners. The purpose of this post is to raise awareness of safety issues at the Sherburne County fairgrounds.
The video captures the July 22, 2023 storm at the county fair and a failing roof leaking into one of the tack/hay stalls.
