Yesterday marked a historic milestone for parkrun, with Bushy Park becoming the first event to reach 1,000 events! It was a fantastic morning, and despite running with a cold, it was one of my favourite events this year. Bushy Park has always been a favourite of mine, and I’m not alone! Many runners from all over the world have visited where it all began in 2004. Since it started 20 years ago as a small social run with just 13 people, Parkrun has grown into the largest health and wellbeing initiative on the planet. Think about that for a moment... It made me think over the weekend and I couldn't help but think about the work I do and the overlap. It reminds me of the power of building strong, engaged partnerships. Just as Parkrun has thrived by bringing people together with a shared purpose, successful partnerships are built on shared goals, mutual understanding, and a commitment to making an impact. What makes Parkrun truly special is its commitment to accessibility—no subscriptions, no membership fees, just a mission to better mine and many other people's health and happiness. I particularly think about how the best partnerships, (like Parkrun) prioritise people, purpose, and long-term value. I feel very fortunate to be a local to the birthplace of Parkrun. Long may it continue, long may it inspire, and long may we run! #Parkrun #Partnerships #Worklifebalance

Life Lessons from Parkrun: Today, during my Parkrun after a long hiatus, I realized that life principles can be mirrored from running. Here are some anecdotal insights that apply to life: 1. Set Micro Goals: Focus on putting one foot before the other. Small, consistent steps lead to progress. 2. Prioritize Steady Progress: In the long run, taking breaks while maintaining progress is more sustainable than striving for short-lived peak performance. 3. Make Space for Others: Just like in running, it's important to create space for others. Everyone deserves their path. 4. Respect Different Paces: Walking is perfectly okay. People have different optimal paces, and that's alright. 5. Embrace Community Progress: In the grand scheme of things, life is a community journey, not just an individual race. It's about collective growth and support. #Parkrun #LifeLessons #CommunityProgress #SteadyPace

The Gift of Simplicity, Just in Time for the Holidays. The holidays are a time of connection, celebration, and joy. This holiday season, we’re giving communities the gift of simplicity. With one phone call or a few taps on your smartphone, you can ensure every driver has the parking space they need. Shoppers can park with ease. Businesses can welcome more customers. Neighborhoods can stay safe and organized. Because when parking compliance works, the whole community works. As the KMB project progresses, it’s essential to address the rising concerns from residents about its potential impact on the local fishing community and the natural environment. For many, the project symbolizes progress, yet it also brings challenges that could disrupt the livelihoods of fishermen and impact nearby ecosystems. Balancing infrastructure development with respect for community livelihoods and the environment is not just a necessity—it’s a responsibility. At ParkQwik, we recognize the need for development solutions that are not only effective but also considerate of local communities and environmental health. Our approach to parking aims to minimize urban disruption, with strategically placed, secured parking that reduces street congestion and supports the efficient use of space. By promoting managed parking areas, we help mitigate traffic overflow, lessen environmental strain, and create safer, cleaner surroundings. Parking solutions like Parkqwik can play a role in responsible development by offering seamless, eco-friendly parking alternatives that contribute to the project’s goal without adding to local challenges. As cities evolve, let’s ensure that the voices of residents, especially those like our fishermen who are closely connected to the land and sea, remain part of the conversation. Together, we can strive for progress that serves both people and the planet. #SustainableDevelopment #CommunityFirst #SmartParking #ParkingSolutions #Parkqwik #SafeParking #parking #monthlyparking #parkingsolution #parkingsuperstar #parkingmadeeasy

Parkmen: A Collaborative Effort Driving Community Engagement ADVIER is proud to be co-creator of Parkmen (parkmen.nl). Parkmen is a serious play on the well-known Pacman game and is an inspiring example of collaboration between residents and local government. During this engaging game, residents come together to discover what truly matters. Valuable conversations emerge around safety, health, mobility, and social interaction, through cheerful and interactive discussions about parking spaces, alternatives to parking on doorsteps, and redesign of public spaces. The game can be played by residents, residents' associations, and municipalities to clearly identify community needs, making it a versatile tool for participation across different domains. ADVIER and our partners are still evolving the game. Efforts are ongoing to translate the outcomes further into tangible improvements for neighbourhoods, ensuring residents can better experience the impacts and share their preferences. Using real-world cases, the aim is to foster better dialogue within the community. Let's keep the conversation going and build better, more connected communities together! #CommunityEngagement #LocalGovernment #UrbanDevelopment #SmartCities #PublicSpaces #NeighbourhoodImprovement Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie Luisiana P.
