The powers that be have informed me that LinkedIn is growing and I need to be posting more about what I am working on personally. So, consider this my introduction post. For those of you who don’t know me, I am Steven, Co-Founder and CEO of Host & Home a vacation rental management company, and President at CENTURY 21 Diamond Realty Diamond Realty. I’ve been in the real estate industry for as long as I can remember, and have spent a similar length of time in vacation rental management. You could say I found my passion early in my career, and most recently, I have been leading the helm at both Host and Home and Diamond Realty. I moved to Hilton Head Island, SC in 2018 and at this point, I am probably the island’s number one fan. I love living here, and feel very lucky to call a place that so many consider a vacation spot, my home. We work hard, but we certainly play hard on Hilton Head, and when I am not working you can find me hanging out with my family, my wife Lindsey and son Parker. And of course, enjoying everything the island has to offer, from tennis, to pickleball, to the beach, to delicious restaurants like Ella’s on the Water. Celebrating a milestone! As I was enjoying our annual summer vacation last week, I wes reflecting on what unexpected surprises/delights can happen in a short period of time: Two years ago while on vacation at this same spot on the Oregon Coast (a family favorite for 30 years), Mike Kennie and I took our first call with Aimbridge. At the time, our company (which would become Amaze insights) was doing quite well, but we were a small, two-person startup. We were having fun but our growth trajectory, while upward, was slow. We were in conversation with potential investors, and they set up a meeting to present our solution to the team at Aimbridge Hospitality. The call was designed as a “proof of concept” - the goal to discuss whether or not the solution we built had legs. We had no intention of pitching to Aimbridge, just wanted their feedback on our platform. BUT, what was completely unexpected is that Aimbridge not only liked Amaze Insights, they signed up and became a became our largest customer! In the process, we found our awesome investment teams and board. It’s been a whirlwind adventure, we have found incredible partnerships and continued to grow, creating more value and increasing productivity of teams everywhere.
