As a research physician and clinical scientist, being part of the development of the Cleaner Vac thrombectomy system has been a truly rewarding journey. From its inception during early design discussions, through rigorous in vivo and cadaveric studies, to witnessing its transition to market with exceptional early use outcomes, this project has been nothing short of transformative. The privilege of collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, internally with brilliant engineers and clinicians who shaped its design, and externally with physicians contributing invaluable insights during pre-market trials, has been a humbling and enlightening experience. The process has underscored the importance of continuous learning, iterative adjustments, and the necessity of approaching complex challenges with a mindset open to growth and refinement. This device represents more than just a technical achievement; it’s a testament to what can be accomplished when innovation is paired with clinical expertise and rigorous testing. As we celebrate its commercialization, I am equally enthusiastic about the promising development pipeline following behind. These new technologies as well as others offered by other medical device companies in the space hold immense potential to redefine how physician’s and clinicians approach thrombectomy and improve outcomes for patients worldwide.
