Reflecting on a year of innovation and sustainability. As we wrap up another year, we’re proud to celebrate the progress we’ve made in advancing recyclable and sustainable plastic packaging solutions at Mpact Plastics. Our mission to create sustainable, high-performance packaging drove significant advancements in materials, processes, and partnerships aimed at improving recyclability and reducing waste. This is undoubtedly demonstrated by the awards received this year. Key highlights include reduction of virgin materials, increased use of recycled content and optimising packaging designs to improve recyclability. Scientific capabilities are integrated at every stage of the value chain. Strong focus is given to support fit-for-purpose food packaging, taking into consideration the risks associated with using recycled materials. Specialist techniques are employed to trace any contaminants that might adversely affect food packaging. Thank you to our customers, partners, and team members for being part of this journey. #Mpact #MpactLimited #MpactPlastics #Innovation #Sustainability #CircularEconomy

The European Green Deal and the Circular Economy Action Plan are driving significant changes in packaging regulations. On April 24, 2024, the European Parliament adopted new measures to make packaging more sustainable. In parallel, the Dutch government is pushing for a National Circular Plastics Standard, mandating that all plastics produced in the Netherlands contain at least 15% recycled or bio-based plastic by 2027. This new standard aims to reduce fossil resource use and boost sustainable materials. Today the US Plastics Pact released its Roadmap 2.0 — an ambitious strategic plan to drive the transition to a circular economy for plastics in the United States. Congrats to all Activators and Technical Affiliates involved. Roadmap 2.0 focuses on reusing, recycling, composting, and designing plastics that stay within the economy and out of the environment. It begins where Roadmap to 2025 ends, carrying forward Targets, Outcomes, and Deliverables not yet fully achieved, pushing further those that have been successful, and implementing new, necessary objectives born from what was learned during the original strategic plan. A few of the accomplishments of the Roadmap to 2025 are: — Reduced Problematic & Unnecessary Materials from 14% to 8% — Increased reusable, recyclable, or compostable plastic packaging from 37% to 47.7% — Expanded U.S. Pact from 62 to over 135 engaged Activators — Developed a PCR Procurement Toolkit, PCR Certification Principles, and Design for Circularity Playbook Publishing Roadmap 2.0 at 18 months before it is implemented in January 2026 allows Activators adequate time to internally coordinate and align for the new strategic plan. 🌟 What is Target 2 of Roadmap 2.0? 🌟 Continuous from the U.S. Plastics Pact’s Roadmap to 2025, the second target is to design and manufacture 100% of plastic packaging to be reusable, recyclable, or compostable. What are the planned outcomes for Target 2? 1️⃣ Circular pathways are identified for 100% of plastic packaging in the U.S. Plastics Pact portfolio. 2️⃣ Circular design guidance is widely available, including guidance on packaging standardization. 3️⃣ Aligned industry approach regarding on-pack messaging to consumers about how to reuse, recycle, or compost packaging. These outcomes can only become reality with the efforts and mobilization of our Activators, so join us in our mission to create a circular economy for plastics and be part of the transition! #RoadmapToCircularity #USPlasticsPact #RoadmapTo2025 Read our Roadmap 2.0 to learn more about Target 2: https://lnkd.in/gcV8mD7
