After countless "Nos," my first "Yes" came from an unexpected place: within my circle. Early in my career, I focused solely on meeting new people, assuming no one in my network had the capacity or interest in real estate investment. Then, a friend reached out. She had been watching my consistent efforts and asked about a property. Without much expectation, I shared the details. To my surprise, two days later, she made the purchase. This taught me a valuable lesson: while expanding your network is important, don’t overlook the potential within your immediate circle. The value you create can resonate just as strongly there. In the world of real estate investing (and life in general), it's easy to follow the crowd. After all, there's safety in numbers, right? But here's the thing: True innovation and growth often happen when we dare to think differently. I remember when I first started in multifamily investing. Everyone told me to stick with single-family homes. It was the "safe" choice, they said. But something didn't sit right. So I paused. I reflected. And you know what? That reflection led me down a path that completely transformed my investment strategy and, honestly, my life. I'm not saying we should always be different just to be different. But it's really helpful to ask why we do things the way we do. Ask yourself: Why am I doing things this way? Is there a better approach I haven't considered? What opportunities am I missing by playing it safe? So this week, I challenge you: Find one area in your life or work where you're just "going with the flow." Pause. Reflect. And see if there might be a different path worth exploring. Who knows? Curiosity! How curious are you to read this whole passage here today? I have always been curious about everything. I keep questioning each and everything until my mind is not satisfied. This sometimes turns out to be a negative side of the coin but sometimes it gives more impact about knowing something thoroughly and understanding the process. This characteristic sticks with me in my career too. For any property we visit for the first time my mind runs all the angles :- - Knowing the strengths of the developer company - Knowing in debt of the project pros & cons - Putting self into the place of the client and understanding their POV for investment or buying home. The lists just goes on. Until it feels like yes we can present this to the client. But sometimes being a lucrative market and easily manipulative the risk hingers higher. But the vicious cycle of being curious has just no ends to it. As it is quoted " Curiousity is the engine of achievement". A few years back, I embarked on a venture that promised to redefine my real estate portfolio. The stakes were high, the excitement palpable, and the potential outcomes uncertain. Little did I know, it would become a cornerstone of my professional growth.   The Highs: Success on the Horizon: The initial phases of the deal were euphoric. Everything seemed aligned – market trends, negotiations, and the promise of substantial returns. Confidence was high, and anticipation soared.   The Lows: Unforeseen Challenges: Real estate, like life, is unpredictable. Unexpected regulatory shifts, unforeseen market dynamics, and unanticipated delays blindsided us. The project faced setbacks, and uncertainty crept in.   The Learnings: ·     Adaptability Is Key: In the face of challenges, adaptability emerged as the unsung hero. Being nimble and flexible in our approach helped navigate the turbulence. The ability to pivot strategies saved the day.   ·     Due Diligence Matters: No amount of due diligence is too much. In the complex world of real estate, thorough research and risk mitigation are non-negotiable.
