Happy to share some good news ! Within our MBA program capstone project we were asked to take part in the competition by Climate Investment Challenge organized in cooperation with Imperial College Business School (https://lnkd.in/e3_i5xp7). So, we were to develop in teams creative financial solutions and innovations addressing the climate change. After some discussions with field representatives and experts my teammates (Azarias Teferi, Kofi Marfo, Juliet Dodd-o and Mónica Prada) and me came up with an idea of establishing an investment fund that would focus on investing in programs for developing solar powered refrigerated warehouses in rural areas of Sub-Saharan Africa. Today we have received a confirmation from the organizers that our concept note has been selected by the judging team out of 130 applications based on the strength of the idea, the feasibility of implementation, the degree of innovation and the potential impact it could have. Congratulations to my Team from friends, colleagues, relatives and the ones who just noticed this while scrolling their newsfeed are very welcomed.😎 The rest is still to come, but for now I would like to express my gratitude to Bologna Business School, Professor Marcello Russo and Professor Alessandro Pastore for this interesting challenge and to MADI SAKANDE, Davide Aloj, Juan Luis Vial and Calvin Bader for their advisory and support in developing the idea. For the next round we are asked to submit a short pitch deck based on our idea. Still a lot of work to do towards the refinement of the concept, but we are determined to move forward. Good luck to us! #bbs #climateinvestmentchallenge

I am happy to inform you that I completed my climate change and sustainable investment specialization. After months of intense study, we are delighted to have achieved our goal. This course has given us a better understanding of the complex relationships between climate change, economics, and finance. By the end of the program, we have mastered the tools to build an informed opinion, based on scientific facts, on the feasibility and effectiveness of current options for tackling climate change. We have also understood the pros and cons of the different policy approaches in transitioning to a low-carbon economy. Finally, we learned how climate risks affect corporate fundamentals and how to implement effective low-carbon investment strategies. This specialization course is a real treasure trove of knowledge.

What is the impact of #climatechange on equity valuation❓ Join us at Scientific Beta Days Europe on November 26 in London to discuss our latest insights. 👨🏫 Our expert, Riccardo Rebonato, will take the stage to present his latest paper “How Does Climate Risk Affect Global Equity Valuations? A Novel Approach.” The research reveals that over 40% of global #equity value is at risk if decarbonisation efforts do not accelerate, with losses exceeding 50% when climate tipping points are factored in. Prompt and robust action by regulators and companies is needed to keep losses below 10%. During his keynote speech, EDHEC Business School Professor Rebonato will examine the following topics: ✔️ A combined probabilistic approach to equity valuation for transition and physical risk ✔️ The importance of state-dependent discounting ✔️ A Minsky moment or death by a thousand cuts?
