Hey! Please hear this, As the festive season of Christmas approaches, there's need for us to remind ourselves to focus on what we do best and not get distracted by unnecessary pressures. This is a time to reflect on our goals, even if you are just setting them now. Let's put in our best efforts, and ensure we’re ending the year strong and proud of our achievements so far, no matter how little. However, with the season comes a lot of activities, and unfortunately, not all are positive ones. Bad and criminal activities often increase during this time, so it’s important that you stay vigilant and protect your space & your peace. Very importantly, don’t let anyone pressure you into what you’re not comfortable with. Firstly, stay true to yourself, focus on your goals, and keep doing the right thing no matter what. Also, as you go about your daily activities, please, endeavor to mind your business. Avoid unnecessary conflicts or distractions, and focus on building yourself and your future. 🎄 December reminder 🎄 You cannot do all of the things for all of the people. That’s true at any time of year but ESPECIALLY at this time of year. It’s totally unrealistic to get everything finished before the festive break. It’s a recipe for overwhelm and sickness when you do finally sit down for Christmas dinner. From a work point of view, take stock now and start to manage your own expectations of yourself. It can help to see the holiday not as an end point, but as a pause point that can be restarted again in January. Here’s how: 🎄 Write a list of everything you think you need to do 🎄 Put all the actions into three categories: must do, would be nice to do, can wait until January 🎄 Delegate as many of the “must do’s” as possible 🎄 Schedule the rest of the “must do’s” into your own calendar, and only tackle the “would be nice to do’s” if there is any space left Hopefully that will help you manage your own expectations of what you can do in the time available. If you can, leave your last afternoon clear for any unexpected “must do’s”. If you’re lucky there won’t be too many of those and you can start early on the mulled wine! #PublicRelations #Communications #Training

My festive season hack! The festive season is your best chance to get ahead don’t waste it! The festive period isn't a whole month of slowing down. It’s also a great time to separate yourself from the competition. Most people slow down in December. They relax, watch movies, and put their goals on hold. But this is your chance to pull ahead. While others chill, you can make progress. Start good habits, connect with key people, and plan for what’s next. It’s not about skipping the mince pies and movies, just balance it with action. December is quieter. Especially if you wait for opportunities to come to you. Use the time to make a start on 2025. Write and plan some content. Make those extra calls. Send that email. Hit the gym. Even small actions now can set you up for a strong start in the New Year. Enjoy the break, but don’t check out completely. Make December count. Stand out from the crowd. The truth about why so many of us feel more exhausted at Christmas. Lately, I’ve been hearing the same thing over and over: “I hope you’re winding down for the festive season.” It’s such a lovely sentiment, isn’t it? But if I’m being honest, every time I hear it, I can’t help but think—when did hoping for rest become our baseline? I don’t believe in ‘hoping’ for rest - because in this case, hope is not a strategy. The truth is, for so many of us, this time of year feels like running on empty. We sprint through December, trying to tie up loose ends and meet everyone’s expectations, only to collapse into the holidays, completely drained. And I’ve been there too, many times before. It’s hard not to be, in a world that constantly asks for more. But here’s the thing: rest, joy, and peace won’t magically appear just because we’re hoping for them. The system around us isn’t designed to slow us down—we have to choose it for ourselves. And while it’s not easy, I truly believe that choosing rest now—before life forces us to stop—sets the tone not just for the festive season but for the year ahead. The festive season is such an interesting time of year, everyone always associates it with joy and happiness, but for many family complications are centre stage. So I wanted to try and simplify the challenges no matter whether you put your tree up a month ago, or are dreading the hustle and bustle of it all… 1. Set your boundaries early. Figure out what works for you, who you have to see, who you want to see and make it manageable for you. 💫 2. MAKE sure you do something for yourself. Time alone, your interests, with JUST your family, friends or loved ones. Not people you HAVE to see. 🧘 3. "No" is part of the English language for a reason, be it invitations, alcohol, food you do not like or want or when you have just had too much. Say no thank you if you need to. 👎 4. Your presence is a gift enough, we don't need consumerism to take over. Try secret Santa, time together, putting phones down and being where your feet are, enjoying films and different food. The greatest gifts are things we cannot buy. 🎁 5. Embrace the time, kids can be tough, family meals can be awkward, however time will pass regardless, so try and find the magic moments of human connection. Practise some self care and come out the other end excited for 2025. ⏳ Preparation gives us a chance to move through the festive period and re energise. ⚡️ If you live in the western world you will likely have some downtime, no matter your beliefs, so please be thoughtful of those who do not practise the same calendar as you. Things I only used to care about before the holiday season: • Eating all the treats • Drinking all the drinks • Delaying goals until the New Year Doing the above puts you in the crowd at the base of the mountain It puts you in the crowd at the bottom of the mountain 'Don't be boring' 'Go on, 1 more wont hurt' 'Just start in the new year' Sound familiar? After years of learning the hard way, here’s what matters to me now: → Enjoying Christmas without the binge → Maintaining body confidence → Avoiding discomfort after meals → Keeping energy levels steady → Starting the New Year with a head start → Challenging myself now, not later Maybe this list looks different for you. Priorities can shift as we move through different stages of our lives. Keep reassessing what's important to you as you enjoy the holiday season. The festive season can be a time when we let our goals slide, thinking we’ll just pick them back up in January. But it doesn’t have to be all or nothing.
