Bornostoryteller ( Musa Ajit ) is passionate about documenting the issues and solutions that currently affect Borno State, Nigeria. His passion is through documentary filmmaking and photography to raise awareness of the problems and inspire solutions.
"Climate change has devastated Borno, a region already ravaged by conflict. Once-lush lands are now dry and dusty, and the shrinking Lake Chad has left people struggling to survive. Floods and scorching sun have replaced the nourishing rains, exacerbating the displacement and despair of a people already battered by war. The land once green and abundant, now withers under the harsh conditions, leaving only memories of a more peaceful time.
Storytelling plays a vital role in conflict-affected regions like Borno, Nigeria, serving as a powerful tool for preserving cultural heritage, providing emotional release, and fostering community bonding. Through storytelling, individuals and communities can share their experiences, document their history, and raise awareness about the impact of conflict and climate change. Moreover, storytelling empowers marginalized voices, promotes healing and reconciliation, and helps communities cope with trauma and displacement. By amplifying the stories of those affected, storytelling has the potential to inspire empathy, understanding, and support, ultimately contributing to the recovery and resilience of conflict-affected communities."
