I started a new position at Lone Wolf on October 1st—about a month ago—and I think it’s time to reflect on what a whirlwind it’s been.
Here are 5 things I’ve learned so far:
👉 Reaching out for help is okay: You’re new, and it takes time to understand the company’s values and tone. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it.
👉 A welcoming environment is key: A welcoming atmosphere is important from both sides—whether it’s the company or yourself. Feeling comfortable in your new role is crucial for growth and productivity.
👉 No question is stupid: Ask as many questions as you need to. Don’t hesitate to seek clarification or ask for help when you have doubts.
👉 Be honest about your strengths and areas where you need help: For example, I’m strong in social media and PR, so I didn’t need much assistance in those areas. However, I needed more guidance on industry norms and events, and it’s important to be transparent about that.
👉 Working from the office is better than working from home: In the office, you get to meet people, learn from their journeys, and most importantly gain a deeper understanding of the company. This, in turn, leads to better quality of work.
Overall, the first month has been a journey of growth, learning, and adaptation. Looking forward to what’s ahead and continuing to build on what I’ve learned so far! 😊
