From Reentry to Economic Equity: Building Pathways to Prosperity underscores the importance of not only reintegrating individuals into society after incarceration but also ensuring their economic empowerment. This involves creating comprehensive pathways that lead to financial stability and long-term prosperity for justice-impacted individuals. These pathways may include access to education, vocational training, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship support, financial literacy programs, and other resources aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty and recidivism. By addressing the economic disparities faced by formerly incarcerated individuals, society can promote equity, foster economic mobility, and support successful reentry into communities. Very emotive morning facilitating a session for women with lived experience of child removal. When we submitted our bid to the The National Lottery Community Fund we placed a huge emphasis on the need for the project to be designed by women for women. This is the first step in this process. The aim is to ensure our new Growth project is co-produced right from the very beginning. The women we met today are true fighters, they have had the most horrendous experiences and still want to share their stories to make a change. Remember the top 2 reasons for child removal are Domestic Abuse and Mental Ill health. Yet these services are so under resourced and underfunded, we are setting women up to fail. The issue is so complex and the stigma and shame is huge. If there is one thing Target Housing are good at it is to represent those who don't have a voice, fight for a change to the systems and scream from the rooftops about injustice. If any one of my connections is currently working with or knows someone with lived experience of child removal, formal or informal, please get in touch we need as much input, support and feedback as possible. Together we can make a change. #teamtarget #injustice #women

As we continue to recognize International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, let us remember that housing remains a persistent and pervasive issue, deeply ingrained in many societies around the world. Such discrimination not only deprives individuals of their fundamental rights but also contributes to widening socioeconomic gaps and perpetuates cycles of poverty and inequality. Efforts to address this issue require comprehensive strategies that tackle both overt and subtle forms of discrimination while promoting inclusive housing policies and equitable access to housing for all. - Learn, Speak up, Act. Affordable housing isn’t a benefit; it’s a right, the foundation of a just society - Anonymous. #FightRacism #affordablehousing #nonprofithousing ##communityhousing #nsnpha #nsnonprofithousing

CoSA volunteers do the work no one else is willing to do. Communities are dependent on volunteers to ensure everyone is safe and living a healthy lifestyle. Q: Why do you volunteer with CoSA? A: "I am a volunteer with CoSA because I believe that we are all children of a loving God who desires that each of us have, and enjoy, freedom. Because of the stigma that is attached to the core members of CoSA, they need our support to re-enter society as free persons." - CoSA volunteer #CoSA #virtualCoSA #nomorevictims #nooneisdisposable #preventrecidivism #volunteer

As a social justice charity, we welcome the King’s Speech as a promising step forward when it comes to gendered violence, housing rights and the wellbeing of our young people. We await with interest the Government’s plans to halve violence against women and girls, a national crisis that must be prioritised and that will need brave, deep-rooted societal change to be achieved. The re-tabling of a Bill to ban conversion practices is an important step towards this – we hope it is one of many. We will be paying close attention to the Crime and Policing Bill, and the Victims, Courts & Public Protection Bill, with an eye on the impacts for domestic abuse survivors and in the hopes of a more rehabilitative, person-centred approach to justice, which addresses the root causes of offending. Similarly, we will interrogate the Renters’ Rights Bill to ensure the best possible outcomes for the most vulnerable in our society. The Labour Party's manifesto covered children and young people’s wellbeing at length – we are pleased to see this carried through with the promise of a Children’s Wellbeing Bill. We run children and young people’s services in multiple locations across the country including a brand-new youth hub, and stand at the ready to support in the essential work of supporting future generations to thrive and live happier, healthier, safer lives. Cranstoun’s foundations are in substance use interventions, an area we hope to see movement from the new Government on. We will continue to advocate for a whole-system approach which will save lives, reduce crime, and ultimately save the taxpayer money, and we hope to see support for these changes, which are rooted in evidence, as the Government gets to work. #KingsSpeech #SocialJustice #CriminalJustice #DomesticAbuse #SubstanceUse #HousingReform #Wellbeing #SocialPolicy #PublicPolicy

Real change starts at the local level. Hyperlocal giving allows us to invest directly in community-led initiatives that address racial equity and the systemic challenges many neighborhoods face. By supporting organizations rooted in the communities they serve, we empower those who are closest to the issues and equipped with the knowledge to drive sustainable solutions. These hyperlocal efforts are essential to addressing disparities in economic opportunities and justice—particularly in areas heavily impacted by mass incarceration. By focusing on specific community needs, we can create pathways to equity and long-term change. Visit the PWF Grants page to learn more about our nonprofit partners. Explore their work, visit their websites, and consider giving directly to support their efforts in building stronger, more equitable communities. https://lnkd.in/g5eZnehv #HyperlocalGiving
