Why are we pouring government funding and charity money into 'fixing' things all the time when the money would be better spent preventing it in the first place? There would also be less damage to children who are already profoundly traumatised. Our children have a birth right to meaningful contact so let's invest in them not being denied it in the first place. As a foster carer I watch it happen and not for the right reasons, it's either too much hassle for overstretched social workers to arrange it, or another foster carer is blocking it - which is not in their job remit (too much trouble, 'upsets' the children). Or it's let slide for so long every one conveinetly forgets about it - except the children. FosterWiki have a adenda for reform, with solutions and evidence, data, stats and feedback from the biggest independent foster carer's survey ever, serious feedback from fostering's frontline. Please lets work togther, lets collaborate on prevention. This is massive. After our move, we went from a breakfast/snack/lunch/snack school to just a morning/afternoon snack school. Both phenomenal (and fee paying) schools, but the difference is immense. I am incredibly grateful to be in a position to have sent my daughter to the schools I have, and am by no means comparing my experience to the struggles others face, but even just this small change amounts to so much work. For those that think it’s just “throwing food in a box”: First it is ensuring you have said food to throw in a box. Nutritious breakfast foods don’t travel well and/or are disproportionately messy to eat at school when dealing with 1-5 year olds. Lunches? “Just use dinner food.” Okay sure, let me figure out additional quantities to meals to ensure there are left overs that Little would be willing to eat, and eat cold. Skipped a shop, because you figured you’d go next day when Little is at school, only to realize you now don’t have a lunch option? It is a MASSIVE change even to those not facing food instability. Have y’all ever been Hangry? Or had a hangry co-worker you’ve thrown a candy bar at to get them out of the rut and be productive? Now imagine that feeling as a kid supposed to sit and patiently learn all while dealing with all the other concerns and struggles hormones provide. I’m sure sure there will be naysayers and those bemoaning “hand outs” etc., but the joy this seemingly simple change has brought me on behalf of children and adults I’ve never met and will likely never meet, helps me believe that my hope for humanity is still alive! Thanks as ever to Sami Unrau for uplifting and positive content! #freemeals #freebreakfast #freelunch #workingparents

Our school district announced that starting next year, all students will be able to receive a free breakfast and lunch every day at school. I’m celebrating for all those kids who will now have no-questions-asked access to two meals a day. And I am celebrating for all the families for whom this will be a lift of multiple varieties of burdens. Whether it’s the burden of affording the food, or planning for and providing it daily for kids before and as they head out the door, this benefits all families, working parents and otherwise. When we support kids, we support working families. It takes a village.

I am deeply grateful for simply breathing today. Over a year ago, I couldn’t say that. Back then, I felt crushed under the weight of countless responsibilities, unable to see a way out. I’m grateful for the burnout this caused. Without it, I wouldn’t have discovered just how strong I am or realized my ability to rise again and fight. 💪🏼✨ ✅ I’m grateful for the closed doors. 🚪 ✅ I’m grateful for those who told me I couldn’t achieve what I was envisioning. 🙅🏻♀️ ✅ I’m grateful for those who tried to hold me back out of fear or competition. 🛑 ✅ I’m grateful for the harsh words and criticism. 💬 ✅ I’m grateful for being underestimated, ignored, mistreated, ashamed and hidden away in the shadows. 🕳️ ✅ I’m grateful for the solitude—it was there that I found clarity and answers. 🌌 ✅ I’m endlessly grateful for the close friends Heaven sent my way—those angels in disguise who offered their shoulders to cry on and shared words of encouragement and unwavering support. They walk the talk. 🕊️❤️ Today, I stand tall. 🙌🏼 The burnout has healed, and my future looks brighter than ever. 🌟 Yes, the light at the end of the tunnel is real, and it’s possible to reach it. 🌈 But here’s the truth: gratitude doesn’t come immediately. You must first allow yourself to feel angry, frustrated, and heartbroken. Cry it out. 😔 Let go of those emotions that keep you stuck. Only then can you truly embrace gratitude, take the lessons, and move forward. ➡️ So, if you’re in that tunnel, trust the process. Allow yourself to feel everything, and when the time comes, choose gratitude. 🙏🏼 It changes everything. 💖 Here’s to standing tall, brighter futures, and the strength we gain along the way. 🙏🏼✨ Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁! 🫶🏼 #MindsetForSuccess #MindsetMatters #MindsetForGrowth
We are grateful for our families, friends, business partners, and colleagues who support our work! 🙏🏼 Enjoy your #Thanksgiving! 🫶🏼🍁🍂🦃

Santa comes down the chimney and GIVES gifts, expecting nothing in return. What happens if we apply that same concept to business? If we go into every conversation thinking about how we can give to the other person, it not only builds trust, but reciprocity will also kick in. If you want to hear more about this concept, check out the full video on my YouTube channel. Click the link below! ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/gKPdpvTH #santaclaus #giving #reciprocity #businessrelationships
