Retail media audience extensions in the programmatic open marketplace. I understand that retailers might not have a historical perspective on digital advertising or a full understanding of the disastrous impact of audience extensions on the value proposition of quality media owners (and the billions wasted over the years by advertisers). I understand why ad tech companies, whose business models are built on reach, push for that or (those that best interpret the future and a modern role for ad tech in the ecosystem) work to build curated marketplaces.
