For Oscar de la Renta’s return to the runway, Co-Creative Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia present Pre-Spring 2025, celebrating the prolific nature of the organic—a concept first evoked by Garcia’s own watercolor orchid paintings. Rosehip, lapis and butter yellow enliven the neutral tones which ground the collection, while drop-shoulder silhouettes and relaxed tailoring elevate daywear with liberated sophistication. Orchid flowers manifest in a multitude of techniques. The hero ballet slipper orchid print introduces the group, making way for hand-threaded guipure and orchid-printed gold metal organza. Snakeskin dances across silhouettes, both as a print and a mimetic embroidery while abstraction figures prominently, manifesting in bold tones and statement pieces. Beaded fringe embroidery appears across outerwear, dresses and separates, and a technical fringe fil coupé lends texture in persimmon, lapis, ivory and black. The house-championed stained glass embroidery technique is reimagined for the season in structural gowns that celebrate orchids and rosettes.
