SOS Group is joining forces with Smart Works Charity's Newcastle branch Smart Works Newcastle, a Tyneside employment charity, to support local women who need help getting into work! Smart Works Newcastle’s aim is to empower 1,000 women a year into employment, helping them to fulfil their potential and transform their lives. The charity provides high-quality interview clothing and one-to-one interview coaching, and 63% of its clients find employment within a month of their visit. The Professional's Closet (TPC): Empowering Young Professionals with Confidence! At The Talent Firm, we’re more than a business—we’re a social enterprise committed to providing opportunities for all. In October 2023, we launched The Professional's Closet to ensure that everyone, regardless of economic background, can access decent professional attire to enter the workforce with confidence. Through generous donations of new and gently used clothing, we’ve already made a difference. Here’s how it works: Collecting Donations: We receive contributions from generous individuals and organizations. Sorting and Distributing: Every item is prepared and matched with young professionals entering the job market. 3 years ago we cancelled client and candidate gifting. Let's discuss the horrific repercussions…… There were none. There were only benefits. As we switched from gifting to donating, on behalf of our candidates and clients, we found: 😊 Our clients loved it. 😊 Our candidates loved it. 😊 Our team felt more of a sense of purpose, collectively doing some good. 😊 We played a small part in helping beneficiaries do some amazing work, where it's most needed. In practice, here’s how it works: -Instead of sending gifts to our candidates after landing a role, we donate on their behalf. -Instead of sending gifts to our clients at Christmas, we donate on their behalf. - Each year, our Wildwood Talent team get to choose who to donate to: current / future beneficiaries: Arc Food Bank, Wellbeing of Women, Paddington Food Bank and Stripey Stork. For almost half a century Safer Places have helped all survivors of domestic abuse and strived to be an accessible, forward-thinking organisation. With a new visual identity and website they now have an outward appearance and digital presence that reflects their outstanding work. The Challenge Their visual identity did not reflect their efforts to help all survivors of domestic abuse, and their strive to be an accessible, forward-thinking charity. The old templated website did not inspire confidence in the people they help. The process We worked together with all departments and those they support, listening to individual needs and establishing a vision trusted by all stakeholders. Our process instilled a culture that empowered the comms team. The solution A new visual identity, website and donation platform for a 45 year old charity, presenting them as the helping hand to those experiencing abuse on their journey to recovery, resilience and independence. Janet Dalrymple, Chief Executive at Safer Places had the following to say on our collaboration together and our continuing relationship: “We’re incredibly proud of what Safer Places represents and the work we do, but we sorely lacked a brand that reflected our personality. The team at Few and Far completely leaned into our work together, providing invaluable insight and time for us to reflect on their own findings and opinions on who we were. The output from them is absolutely perfect for a 45 year old charity that is full of energy to help survivors but we lacked a way to reflect that outwardly.
