And just like that... we're on to our final video in the "Orchard Explained" series. 🚨 VIDEO #4 🚨 In Video 3 we left off with launching the test on social platforms such as Meta, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn (aka in the wild!). With the help of our Orchard platform, we can launch hundreds of test variants (claims, visuals, concepts, etc) in a matter of seconds. A key value of testing in the wild is the scale at which you can reach consumers. Our test only needs a few days to reach millions of consumers.... hard to fathom using a survey, right? After the test concludes, we're able to compare every piece of stimuli against each other using our predictive score, the Orchard Index. To add external context, we're also able to compare against category & subcategory benchmarks using over a decade of social norms. In the wild testing takes traditional research methods and flips them on their head. We're able to learn from consumers in a ✅ real context ✅ to measure real behavior ✅ to inform real decisions ✅ for real success As always, visit www.orchard-insights.com to learn more or email vince@orchard-insights.com to chat through our process in more detail. If you'd like to see the complete video end-to-end comment "IN THE WILD" below, and we'll make sure it gets your way! #consumerinsights #inthewildtesting #orchard #ideascreening #claimstestin #predictiveinsights #inthewild #marketresearch

Does the pie chart deserve its position as one of the most commonly used chart types? Here’s why we think not. Let's say you want your traffic broken down by social media platform. You may try to make it visual by using a pie chart, but this choice of chart creates unnecessary work for your reader. For the most clear and engaging visual, a bar chart is often a better option. How does it create more work? - Without values, the brain has to calculate both angle and area of each slice - More than 3 slices quickly becomes hard to decipher the relative size - Multiple colors adds more information to process Strip back the complexity to tell your reader a clear story. Check out the images below to see which one feels easier to understand. #datastorytelling #datavisualization #marketingreporting

Is the information on your feed diet fact or fiction? We’ve all been there: scrolling through social media and being bombarded by headlines that scream, surprise, and sometimes scare. But the problem goes deeper than just clickbait. People are simply not equipped to navigate the vast amount of information online. Many believe "if it's on the Internet and it’s so popular, it must be true," and social media algorithms love to exploit this by promoting content that ‘wows’ to get traction. 👉🏼What questions do you ask yourself when exposed to a new information? #criticalthinking

🚨 Social media slump alert! 🚨 Lately, my high-quality, well-thought-out content has been getting minimal views—we’re talking one or two views per video 📉. It's been frustrating, especially when I know the effort and planning I put into each video 🎥. The algorithm? 🤷♂️ Let’s just say it’s unpredictable at best. But here's the kicker: I posted a random, unserious, comedic video—one I almost didn’t share because I felt slightly embarrassed about it—and guess what? It blew up 🚀. It performed better than anything I've posted in recent weeks! Moral of the story? Sometimes you have to go against your grain. You might feel unsure, even awkward, but those moments can lead to breakthroughs you didn't expect 💡. So if you're feeling stuck, switch things up, experiment, and step out of your comfort zone. You never know what will resonate! 💪 #SocialMediaSlump #TrySomethingNew #KeepCreating #AlgorithmStruggles

#Misinformation #Disinformation #StayInformed Hey folks! 🌟 Just a friendly nudge to keep your eyes peeled and your minds sharp because we’re truly living in a golden era of propaganda. Here are some things to think about: The Overload of Information: With click farms, bot accounts, and algorithm-driven content all over social media, it can sometimes feel overwhelming. This isn’t just random noise—there’s serious investment (we’re talking billions) going into spreading misleading info and creating false narratives. Global Disinformation Campaigns: It’s not just a local issue. Misinformation affects people around the world, and as aimless consumers of content, we’re at risk of being misled every single day. Exciting Current Events: With everything happening lately, it’s even more crucial to question the information we consume. Are we getting the whole story? Or just the pieces that fit someone else's narrative? 🤔 As we navigate what's likely to be a super eventful next month or ... Are You Aware of the Propaganda Shaping Our Daily Narratives? The #NutterButter fever dream on the clock app? There’s a science behind why the campaign works so well. It’s called the Bizarreness Effect. Let’s get in to it. Here's why this campaign is more than just clever marketing: 1/ Pattern Interruption: Our brains are designed to notice the unusual. Nutter Butter's campaign, with its early 90’s MTV-inspired graphics and surreal scenarios, breaks through our mental filters and demands attention. 2/ Cognitive Engagement: The campaign's unexpected elements require more mental processing. This increased cognitive effort actually enhances memory formation and recall. 3/ Emotional Response: By evoking a mix of nostalgia, amusement, and perhaps a touch of confusion, the campaign creates an emotional connection. And emotions, as we know, play a crucial role in memory. 4/ Distinctiveness: In a sea of digital content, Nutter Butter's unique approach stands out, creating a distinct memory trace that's easier for our brains to retrieve later. 5/ Social Currency: The campaign's shareable nature encourages discussion, leading to repeated exposure and reinforcing its place in our memory. What Nutter Butter has done is more than create a viral moment; they've tapped into the fundamentals of how our brains process and remember information. It's a brilliant intersection of marketing creativity and cognitive psychology. ------------ 👉 ❓If you were an exec at Nutter Butter, how would you follow up on the success of this campaign?
