The Assignment: To identify a Senior Helpdesk Technician with engineering capabilities. The role encompassed managing endpoint tools, creating provisioning packages for diverse systems (Windows, Mac, iOS), scripting, providing helpdesk support, and automating manual processes. The Challenge: A deluge of unvetted resumes overwhelmed the hiring manager, hindering efficient candidate evaluation. Lengthy processes resulted in the loss of potential candidates to faster-moving opportunities. Lack of automation expertise within the existing team led to manual workflows, reducing helpdesk efficiency. Role expectations surpassed the Helpdesk Technician title, causing salary and title misalignments with potential candidates. System Administrator Day or Sysadmin Day is unofficially celebrated around the world on the last Friday of July. In 2024, the celebration falls on July 26. A system administrator is a unique person whose work no one notices, but without whom nothing works in the office. Only a system administrator knows how to fix "that thing", return mistakenly deleted data and "cure" a computer from an annoying virus. #sysadminDay

The only important thing today is to wish all sysadmins, administrators, and service desk specialists patience, strength, and fortitude. Both for them and their families, because this weekend could be tough. There is a lot of noise about the recent outages, a lot of blame and finger pointing. Some are accurate, some are completely missed. Broken changes are being fixed in code, but still thousands of people have to fix computers and servers manually. They are having a tough time right now and this is not their fault. Let's support them. Anyone who was or is a sysadmin will understand. #sysadmin #servicedesk #administrators #devops #crowdstrike #microsoft

🎉 **Happy SysAdmin Day!** 🎉 Today, I want to take a moment to celebrate the often overlooked yet critical role of System Administrators in the IT world. As a SysAdmin, I've seen firsthand the dedication and expertise required to keep our digital infrastructure running smoothly. Our work isn't always visible, but it's essential. From ensuring servers are up and running, to maintaining network security, to troubleshooting unexpected issues—SysAdmins are the backbone of any organization's IT environment. We work tirelessly behind the scenes, often late into the night, to ensure that everything from emails to databases is accessible and secure. Despite the importance of our role, the contributions of SysAdmins often go unnoticed—until something goes wrong. On this SysAdmin Day, let's change that narrative. Let's acknowledge and appreciate the critical work we do, day in and day out, to support our teams and keep our businesses operational. To my fellow SysAdmins: Miloš Blagojević, Jan Gajan, Branko Radulovic, Branko Petrovic, ⚜️ Nikola Bjelica [ L I O N ] ⚜️, Aleksandar Lazičić I see you, I understand the challenges we face, and I appreciate the relentless pursuit of excellence that defines our profession. Today, let's celebrate our achievements and the vital role we play in our organizations. Happy SysAdmin Day! #it #sysadmin #celebrate #sysadminday

If you know anyone looking for a Sys Admin role that can commute to an office in Chandler AZ, please pass this along. 😊 I'm not sure how strict they are on having the Secret Clearance (they might be willing to get it for you) but I know the Education and Experience is flexible. I didn't have the listed experience and no degree but I got in. Don't let the Job Description scare you. It's packed but we need someone with general Sys Admin experience, a great attitude, and willingness to learn a lot. The job is more about breadth of knowledge rather than depth. I can give tips on how to pick up necessary skills on Linux, Windows, VMware, or DevOps. If you have 1 or 2 of those skills, give it a shot and let me know if I can help with the others. This is my exact role that we are expanding so I can give more insight into the role, what it's like working for the company (work/life balance, etc.), or interview process if needed. You don't have to know it all. Having a good honest conversation with thoughtful responses about things you know and questions about things you don't, would do well. https://lnkd.in/gmyuX-7Y
