The Workplace Wellbeing Forum returns to support healthy workplaces across Coventry & Warwickshire. The Wellbeing for Life Workplace Wellbeing Forum is returning in June for a fourth event to help local businesses improve health and wellbeing support for employees. The Forum will take place on Tuesday 18th June at Eliot Park Innovation Centre, Nuneaton and is being offered as part of the Coventry and Warwickshire Wellbeing for Life programme, where representatives from businesses across the region are invited to attend the free varied programme. At the upcoming event, employers can expect to hear from experts in Public Health, Occupational Health, HR, Business in the Community, Aquarius, CIPD and Economy and Skills talking about the diverse range of social, economic and environmental factors which impact on people’s health and wellbeing. Attendees are being offered the chance to choose two sessions to attend from an option of four covering mental, physical, financial, and social wellbeing. There will be an opportunity to pick up more information and talk to attending organisations including Fairchance, Thrive at Work, Everyone Active, CitySave and Healthy Lifestyle Service. Attendees will also be able to enjoy a complimentary buffet lunch. The Workplace Wellbeing Forum was launched by Coventry City Council and Warwickshire County Council in 2022 and is working to encourage people to take a more proactive approach to looking after their own wellbeing and to raise the profile of local prevention opportunities. It is also helping to provide a place for local employers to network and access resources that will support them in developing improved wellbeing practices. We recognise there are many challenges different organisations will face when trying to implement changes to health and wellbeing policies, so the Forum will also provide an opportunity to share best practice, as well as challenges, hopefully finding ways to overcome these. In the fast-paced, demanding corporate environment of Hong Kong, employees find it challenging to balance their well-being and productivity. Despite society’s improving awareness of wellness and prevention, workplace wellness has languished as ‘good-to-have’, especially under the challenging economic environment. Employers are facing significant resource constraints, as are other key stakeholders such as payors and providers. There are many health-tech-enabled employee engagement initiatives with mixed uptake and outcomes. The overall sentiment is that more needs to be done to support the employees whilst balancing the spending of employers and payors. How do we aim towards a win-win-win situation where 1) employees and employers, 2) payors and 3) other stakeholders such as providers, pharma, other demand side players, and providers (doctors, clinics and hospitals) come together and enhance the value of wellness and prevention at the workplaces? In partnership with Pfizer Hong Kong, the ‘DoWell: Partnering for Workplace Wellness and Prevention’ event aims to shine a spotlight on this subject and bring together thought leaders, business and HR leaders to discuss the current situation and possible solutions to open the dialogue and devise a way forward. Request an invitation now for the DoWell: Partnering for Workplace Wellness and Prevention event and join us on the journey towards a healthier and happier work environment. How to select a workplace wellbeing provider #2 Here's my next big tip to guide you in making the right choice: Prioritise Evidence-Based initiatives 🔴 There's NO value in delivering employee wellbeing support that does not have proven benefits. 🔴 In fact, with an ineffective wellbeing offer you run the risk of raising hopes, only to destroy the trust of your employees down the line. That's why it's crucial to choose a wellbeing provider whose solutions are grounded in robust research and theory. That means they draw on contemporary models and research evidence to maximise the potential for achieving lasting organisational and individual change. ✋🏾 Beware of wellbeing providers that promise an “evidence-based” approach without an ongoing commitment to scientific rigour. Are they actively contributing to their field of expertise through research or academic projects? A sound wellbeing provider will: 😁 Be happy to share proof that their service offerings have a clear research-backed rationale. 😄 Take a systematic approach to understanding the specific challenges facing your organisation and tailor their service accordingly. What's your take on big tip #2? #workplacewellbeing #employeewellbeing #employeementalhealth
