During my holidays in India, I came across few books and articles of Chanakya, an ancient Indian polymath and well renowned strategist. Two of his teachings that resonated with me was “continuous learning and adaptability” and is very much applicable in corporate world. For example, Mahindra started as a tractor company but diversified its portfolio into finance, cars etc. Simila stories with Netflix that sold DVDs, LG sold Facial creams and Samsung sold groceries. I see a similar trend where companies across different industries are now looking at #GenAI to #transform different business functions. Those who will be able to adapt to newer trends will thrive in future.

Missing Number 3   Ever felt like you're living in a two-horse race? Many industries have this fascinating dynamic: the dominance of two major players. While the era of state-induced duopolies like Hindustan Motors and Premier Automobiles is thankfully behind us, I must ask: are we truly spoilt for choice in today's market? Or are we merely pawns in a duopoly game?   Whether it's the cola wars between Pepsi and Coke, the credit card duopoly of Visa and Mastercard, or the e-comm giants Flipkart and Amazon, Jio and Airtel fighting on telephone (pun intended) it seems like two titans rule every industry. This brings me to the most recent duopoly in the market: Air India and Indigo. Post the Air India merger with Vistara, we have only these 2 guys rooting for the top spot. (Don’t think SpiceJet or Akasa Air really count – or am I wrong?)   Now, while this is not ideal for consumers, it's also a challenging situation for the airlines themselves. The pressure to meet rising demand, coupled with operational complexities and financial constraints, can be overwhelming. We’ve all heard the famous joke amongst investors: the fastest way to become a millionaire is to start with a billion dollars and buy an airline!
