In 2022, the Rozsa Foundation received feedback from our community suggesting that as a private foundation, we could play a significant role in advocating for increased government support for the arts sector. This resonated with our values and vision, leading us to allocate more resources to arts advocacy. We've been active in advocacy at all levels of government, from local to federal. We've joined initiatives like the Nonprofit Vote and the Canadian Arts Coalition, and we've invested in our own knowledge through professional development programs. Recently, there have been positive steps in Alberta, with the government announcing increases in funding for the arts. This is encouraging news. Moving forward, we plan to stay connected with relevant government ministries and continue advocating for the arts sector. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gA3jfNaC And don't forget, the dialogue series question for the week is: We want to hear from the community about what they think are important issues for government attention in the arts sector. What are your public policy priorities? Let your voice be heard! In case you missed out on what the 'Dialogue' series is, it is where we take a thought-provoking question or idea from our latest newsletter article and toss it out to our community, asking: 'What's your take? We invite you to dive in however you like! Share your thoughts by commenting, sending messages, recording audio clips, or emailing us —whatever suits you. 'Dialogue' is about your perspective on topics that impact the community. Your thoughts are the heartbeat of this series, so we encourage you to engage! . . . #rozsafoundation #artadvocacy #dialogue #art #artists #yycarts #alberta

It’s all too easy to cut funding for the arts when budgets are tight, especially with so many urgent needs. But investing in theatres, museums, and galleries isn’t a luxury—it’s essential to our society’s fabric. The arts inspire, educate, and bring us together. They turn towns and cities into vibrant communities, fostering a sense of identity and pride. Studies show that engaging with the arts boosts mental health and well-being, giving us shared spaces for reflection, joy, and connection. When we support culture, we’re investing in a richer, healthier, more inclusive future for everyone. It’s about building a society where every life is enriched, not just supported. Let’s keep arts funding alive for the benefit of us all. #SupportTheArts #CommunityWellbeing #CultureMatters #InvestInCreativity

Report Analysis: Are members’ voices drowned out in large co-operatives? A cooperative is an organization owned and controlled by its members with equal decision-making power. Democracy has always been a vital aspect of cooperative businesses since their inception. Despite this, some concerns have been raised about large cooperatives and mutuals potentially neglecting their members’ interests as they prioritize their business objectives. https://lnkd.in/e_rjagEr via @Coopnewsmedia #Newshttps://lnkd.in/e_rjagEr

Thrilled to have led a transformative one-day workshop with NALEO, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to facilitating Latino participation in the American political process. With around 20 passionate participants, we dived deep into the art of communication. 🗣️ It's crucial for these dedicated individuals, who tirelessly work with the public, to convey their message with confidence, clarity, and commitment. We tailored our sessions to fit their diverse roles, from making impactful television appearances to conducting team meetings and presenting reports to external organizations. It was an honor to support such an essential cause and help empower these voices to make an even greater impact. #LeadershipDevelopment #EffectiveCommunication #PoliticalEngagement #LatinoLeadership #PublicSpeaking #MediaTraining #NonprofitImpact #CommunityEmpowerment #VoiceCoaching #ProfessionalGrowth #CivicParticipation #EmpoweringCommunities #TeamworkSkills #MakingADifference #NonpartisanAdvocacy #PublicServiceExcellence #ConfidentSpeaking #ClarityInCommunication #CommitmentToChange #NALEOWorkshop
