Mumbai Roads Condition: A Growing Concern Mumbai, known for its vibrant culture and rapid pace of life. However, one of the persistent issues plaguing the city is the poor condition of its roads. Despite various efforts by the municipal authorities, the city's roads continue to suffer from severe neglect, leading to numerous problems for commuters. Potholes and Man-Eater Holes. -One of the most significant issues is the prevalence of potholes. These potholes, often exacerbated during the monsoon season, pose a severe threat to motorists and pedestrians alike. -The term "man-eater holes" has been coined to describe particularly dangerous potholes that have led to tragic accidents and fatalities. -Fatal Accidents For instance, in 2023, a young motorcyclist lost his life after hitting a deep pothole on a poorly lit road. -Inadequate Infrastructure and Maintenance The root cause of these issues can often be traced back to inadequate infrastructure and maintenance. Additionally, the quality of road construction is frequently compromised, leading to quick deterioration. -Government Initiatives and Public Outcry The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has launched several initiatives to address the road conditions, including pothole-filling drives and road resurfacing projects. However, these efforts have often been criticized for their lack of efficiency and long-term impact. Public outcry and media coverage have brought attention to the issue, but a sustainable solution remains elusive. Conclusion It is imperative for the municipal authorities to adopt a more proactive and comprehensive approach to road maintenance and infrastructure development. Only then can the city hope to provide safe and reliable roads for its residents. Video- This is in Mira Road(Before Dahisar Check Naka) Travelling on the Highway, The distance from my home till Dahisar Check Naka is 1.2 KM, however it takes 25 to 30 Min to cross, Imagine the time wasted by us. Also, The poor Auto driver would need to spend another 20K post monsoon to repair the vehilce #Mumbai #roads #safety Share if you care!!

Poor infrastructure of Mumbai Metro 😡😡😡 Today, a few moments ago I just slipped and fell on the Mumbai metro connecting platform to the red line on Western Express Highway station. Reasons: 1. Wet floor with no Caution sign 2.Slippery tiles which simply improve aesthetic appearance but are impractical and highly dangerous in the rains of Mumbai 3. No monitoring nor cleaning of the forever wet floors on the platforms 4. No screens for stoppage of rain falling on the platforms and stairs Moreover the newly built connecting bridge from WEH to Gundavali is in very bad shape with tiles broken and the cement exposed which will further weaken the bridge. Again a perilous situation for all passengers crossing the bridge. I simply don't understand why the infrastructure is so poor and carelessly engineered and why such substandard material is used with absolutely NO CONCERN for the safety of citizens. Only having a security check is not the only means of ensuring safety... Basic infrastructure is important as well. Poor infrastructure endangers lives! Hope the concerned authorities will act FAST!
