Given how buying has changed learning new sales approaches is key to creating value and differentiation in the client conversation (and winning more deals). Accessing these new strategies is right at our finger tips. The challenge is the self-discipline required to do the reading/listening and then the courage to apply the strategies/tactics. Recommending 4 ideas: 1. As a salesperson, figure out how much money you want to make in the next 12 months. 2. Determine what needs to change in order to make this happen (I.e. access your past 5 losses and identify the sales skill gap. Ask your peers or manager for their perspective). 3. Based on what you need to work on, find a book, podcast, blog post, mentor, coach to help you improve on the gap identified in idea#2. 4. Put it in action. Winning in B2B selling is harder today primarily do to the commoditization of everything. Gaining an edge requires “working on one’s game”.
