While touch rugby isn’t considered a high-risk sport, we believe in going the extra mile to prioritize safety. Having competent and qualified first aid professionals on-site gives everyone peace of mind and ensures a safe, enjoyable experience for all. A huge thank you to Oman International Hospital, Stefan James MacMillan Skrzywanek and Marcelo Nuno Gonçalves Pereira for their invaluable support during our tournaments! By providing highly skilled medical staff, they’ve reinforced one of our core values: ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. Thank you, Oman International Hospital, for being an essential part of our event's success! 💪👏 #WeCare #SafetyFirst #Oman6s #RugbyInOman #Muscat6s

Welcome to Australia to the PNG PM! I remember meeting your predecessor as a child. Thanks to the PM and to the Labor Party for enabling this. I am hoping I can take my kids to PNG when a time opens to see how beautiful the country and culture is (whilst needing support post-colonialism). I was so blessed to spend my childhood here and learn (in the relative absence of capitalism - except of course for the corporate extraction of resources - no shopping in my childhood other than at the local markets and one grocery store where I was able to buy a book each week with my pocket money). In terms of relationship building (or being accountable for the opposite) I do wonder today when we are going to see an apology from the Greens for what was stirred up in federal Parliament that was clearly going to lead to hatred and violence to survivors of the holocaust. Shame. This is what my grandparents came to Australia to escape from (a Hungarian Airforce pilot and a German nurse) who had both experienced horror at what had taken place and suffered trauma from this. I 100% agree with every step Penny Wong has taken on this internationally. It is a highly complex situation, and I think Australia is doing all we can do whilst trying to keep the peace on home ground. I was thinking yesterday that the key issue with human rights is that some people believe their rights or concerns are more important (or all that matters) and are not willing to negotiate or change. Some people cannot see past themselves and their own interest/s or beliefs. This is in part why we are where we are as a species. It is possible for us all to expand and create a framework where we can all express who we are as individuals. It is not easy, but it is possible. It is possible to create a framework with enough space for us all and for all the other species (currently being forced into extinction by us) but we all have to change together. This is in essence what the UN Declaration is about - it is calling for each of us to expand our egos to enable tolerance towards each other, even empowerment of each other. Power does not have to be about win-lose.
Australia and Papua New Guinea are united by our love of Rugby League. This is why I am delighted to announce the Australian Government is supporting a PNG team to join the National Rugby League competition from 2028. The new team will belong to the people of Papua New Guinea. It will call Port Moresby home. And I know it will have millions of proud fans barracking for it, from day one. Our Pacific Rugby League Partnership will also deepen Australia’s sporting connections more broadly in the Pacific. We are the nearest of neighbours and truest of friends. As Prime Minister Marape has said, Australia is Papua New Guinea’s security partner of choice. We are honoured to carry that responsibility and to reflect this across the length and breadth of our relationship.

Australia and Papua New Guinea share many connections - personal, political, and even physical - with a submarine data cable between Sydney and Port Moresby, and Telstra's ownership of PNG mobile operator Digicel. Today, with the announcement of PNG's first NRL team and at the conclusion of PNG Investment Week, Communications Alliance has contacted the PNG Department of Information and Communications Technology to propose an Australia-PNG telecommunications industry forum - to share ideas on how to promote investment and competition in communications technology. I was in Port Moresby in 2013 when PNG announced its plans for a national broadband rollout, and like many Australians I love Papua New Guinea and its beautiful people. I hope that PNG's new NRL team continues to build on the strong bond between our countries. https://lnkd.in/gbU8tNZn

The rapid expansion of China in the Pacific remained a threat to Australia, NZ, Japan, and the US from the Outset 🌍🫡 China claimed South China Sea not withstanding Japans disapproval, and built it's strategic artificial military facilities thus posed a threat to US oil shipments . The Taiwan issue has prolonged, excercebated by US political and military assistance. Thus, we meanuever by applying neutral diplomatic tactics using our Sovereignty as bargain chip to leverage from the ripple effects in terms of Aid and influence. Funny 😂Australia has just woke up from her bed and tried to lure PNG with her decieving tactics by exploiting our weakness and acculturate us with their influence so that we entertain their geopolitical, socioeconomic and military interests. Mind you, PNG would one day needlessly be drawn into a third world war, considering the race for global hegemony between Communists and Capitalist States 🌍. 👀Our territory and EEZs are crucial for their military set up😶🌫️ #History taught us lessons... 🫡🇵🇬 BHHOOOMMM² 🤬🤬🤬🚨🚧🚥🗽💰💸💷💶💵💴😅😂😂

To fellow Australian Connections and Taxpayers. May it be known that not all of us PNG Citizens are rugby players nor is rugby a national sport. Soccer had roots in all PNG. We here don't have junior rugby development programme. Those homegrown PNG rugby players in the likes of Legendary Marcus Bai, Justin Olam and Late Kato Otio are truly Raw Talents who earned their place in the prestigious Australian Rugby League. Its undeniable that Australia had over the years maintained its Bilateral Relationship forged from WWII and Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels legacy, had by far been evident through AusAid funded projects. With recent announcements of the $600million PNG NRL Bid funding, we all should acknowledge the fact that no way Australia will have us in their premier league unless there's certain interest of National Importance. PNG including other neighbouring states including Timor Leste were historically been buffer points of Australia foreign invasion. With Geopolitics having China's influence in the Pacific, the Australian Government had to do anything to protect its citizens from outside attack, and favouring PNG is no exception. Thus, let us all acknowledge that having PNG becoming the 18th NRL Team though its 100% political, its for Australia's own benefit. I rest this 18th NRL Team critics!

I would like to thank Yahya Alsharif and his colleagues at Saudi Football Education for inviting me to present to over 300 football coaches yesterday as part of Saudi National Flag Day. The seminar included many eminent Saudi Arabian coaches and Club representatives. More than 500 participants enrolled on the seminar over the day. This is a great indicator of the serious commitment of Saudi coaches from grass roots and elite clubs to the development of the game in the Kingdom. Much is talked about the star names and big professional clubs in the Saudi Premier League but there is a strong grass roots base in the Kingdom that will only grow with better structures , facilities and of course coaches. My topic was very much however, aimed at the adult game. I was asked to answer a question which I have heard many times: " Principles of Play and Systems and Formations - Which should a coach focus on first and which is most prevalent in winning football matches? " I would be interested to hear what people on this platform think on that one and why ? #coachdevelopment #footballcoaching #performanceimprovement #scouting #europeanscoutsassociation #footballanalysis #rcu #alula #saudivision2030 #safa #afc

Saudi Arabia was confirmed as the 2034 World Cup host Wednesday in an expected, but no less controversial, move that will kick off a decade of scrutiny in the country. Saudi Arabia aims to host all 104 games of the 2034 world cup in 15 stadiums (eight of which haven't been built) across Jeddah, Abha, Al Khobar, Neom and a 92,000-seat venue planned in Riyadh. The Saudi plan has been criticized for the apparent ease at which the bid was approved by FIFA and for contributing to the country’s efforts to “sports wash” its history of human rights abuses—though FIFA has claimed it could help drive positive change in the country. Saudi will host the 2034 World Cup Two lessons from Qatar hosting the same tournament in 2022: 1. Building infrastructure ahead of the event is costly 2. There's a risk of overbuilding & ending with unused capacity https://lnkd.in/g4q5Jp9X
