It's day 8 of the #akindepreciousseptemberlinkedinchallenge
The goal is to consistently post daily which brings me here again; to my second post.
I'd be sharing something profound I learnt this previous week during the course of my Farm year Internship which commenced recently.
Yes, I'm a part 4 student of Agricultural extension and Rural development, OAU.
Back to what, I learnt, it's the Power of teamwork.
✊️Being splitted into different groups; I was placed in group 6 and we're about 20 in a group if not a little over.
✊️In no time, the very first day of farm we were all given plots of cassava to harvest.
✊️It felt like a joke initially until we began the work and saw that this is getting real.
✊️The scorching sun was rising upon us happily licking our skin and yet the line of cassava we were given to harvest still seemed endless.
✊️The need to work as fast as possible so as to finish up our work on time before we get completely burnt up by the sun began to arise.
✊️In no time, without any instruction given or passed we all formed a line formation and splitted the work. Some people at the fore front of the line harvested the cassava while the rest of us at the middle passed the harvested cassava to those at the back who stocked and arranged it in one place.
✊️ The work got super faster and much easier. Before we could completely spell out "Jack Robinson" we had finished the harvesting of the cassava(an hyperbole though, but we were pretty faster than normal).
✊️All of this got me quite amazed cos this was unusual of us. On a normal day, for us to come together to get a project done, we would have to shout, whine and beg everyone to cooperate and get to work. But this time around everyone willingly cooperated and worked wholeheartedly without no shouting or stressing. The team work was so stunning!
✊️ I tried wondering what seamlessly birthed this teamwork amongst us. And eventually, I got to the bottom of this pot.
Here's the answer I got after intently looking into this situation;
♦️The unity and teamwork was birthed seamlessly because everyone of us had a common goal; we all wanted to leave that place as soon as possible.
♦️So we realised that the only way to achieve that was to complete our work and do that quickly. What could make this achievable was for us to cooperate and voila! everyone willingly cooperated.
Here's the lesson I got;
💡Unity and teamwork can be easily gotten in any setting at anytime when all the team members all have a common desire/goal. Everyone of them has to individually desire that goal so much that they won't have to be forced before they cooperate and give in the work needed to get the goal achieved.
💡This works anytime for any team; one mind, one goal; strong unity!
