"Through constant experimentation and creative freedom, indie films allow for the emergence of new methods and trends in #filmmaking. They offer an authentic reflection of the human condition, providing a mirror to society that reveals our shared struggles, joys, and complexities. Indie films matter because they push the boundaries of what cinema can be, creating stories that resonate on a deeply #human level. They are a testament to the power of #storytelling and a crucial part of the #cinematic landscape, offering a diversity of voices and perspectives that enrich our understanding of the world." 🎥 🎥 🎥 [sic] Aditya, Dandy C. Central Florida Locals: ENZIAN NEEDS YOUR HELP! If you're a local to the Orlando area, you likely know and love Enzian Theater; I've enjoyed it so much during my years here that I had to get involved, so I joined the Advisory Council. And we've been hit hard. As you may have seen in recent news, the state of Florida has made a monumental and unprecedented cut of $32 million in funding for arts and cultural institutions. This means that beginning July 1, state arts funding supporting Enzian and other arts nonprofits will be zero. As a nonprofit organization, Enzian’s continued operation relies on government support and grant funding. With this elimination of state funds, Enzian will experience a total loss of $104,191. For almost 40 years, Enzian has been Central Florida’s home to independent cinema. More than a movie theater, it is a curated celebration of film, showcasing and prioritizing cinema of historical and cultural significance to entertain, inspire, educate, and connect the community through film. Now more than ever, your support is essential in sustaining Enzian’s future. Please consider a gift to help bridge this funding gap and keep cinema in Central Florida alive and accessible to all. Here’s how you can help today: 1. Make a Donation Only 25% of Enzian’s operating income is derived from ticket sales. Make a donation today and your generosity will directly support our mission! 2. Join the Enzian Film Society With an Enzian membership, you can receive exclusive presales, ticket discounts, table reservations, and other amazing perks. 3. Become a Sponsor Enzian could not bring the community together at our numerous screenings, festivals, and special events without the generous support of corporate sponsors. https://lnkd.in/eurNqYY7

We are making a difference! "In creative placemaking, partners from public, private, non-profit, and community sectors strategically shape the physical and social character of a neighborhood, town, city, or region around arts and cultural activities. Creative placemaking animates public and private spaces, rejuvenates structures and streetscapes, improves local business viability and public safety, and brings diverse people together to celebrate, inspire, and be inspired."* Paramount Theatre has taught me about the immeasurable impact of the arts on people and communities. Support the arts, your whole world will feel it! *This quote is from a study by the National Endowment for the Arts.

Over the last 6 years, our film challenge has advanced the careers of hundreds of women and non-binary filmmakers. We give filmmakers the opportunity to collaborate with a new network, access the best equipment, produce high-end material, gain credits, and get into festivals. In other words, we remove the financial barriers so that women and nonbinary filmmakers can focus on telling their stories and advancing their careers. It has never been easy to make this film challenge free for participants. It takes months of planning, resource gathering, volunteer training, and more. Now more than ever, we need community support to make this film challenge happen. Diversity, equity, and inclusion programs are under siege. There are lawsuits targeting these initiatives; companies are worried about sponsoring these programs; and entire DEI departments and budgets are getting cut. In a post-strike world, everyone is tightening their budgets, and equity is not making the cut. We are not going to let Hollywood backslide. Equity is not a trend; our lives depend on it. Already, Western Digital, Cinelease, and The Tremaine Foundation lent their support to the film challenge, but we need to raise $20,000 this week in order to continue our rollout. We are committed to hosting our film challenge this October, which means our applications are set to open at the end of July. In just a few short weeks, we will need to know that our funding is secure so that we can bring this program to our community. Whether you’re a past participant who wants this opportunity to be accessible to future participants or you simply believe in this mission, now is the time to make a donation. Will you be a part of this movement? Please make a tax-deductible donation today! https://lnkd.in/e7Tm5G-Y

Can you help Transformation Theatre reach our goal?

First presented as our last in person reading in 2020, producing our first independent production. WE NEED YOUR HELP In order to produce this new and exciting play, we need to raise $50,000. Simply use the QR code to see what amazing gifts we are offering for different levels of support. Thank you to everyone who has worked with us and supported us. Did you know that 96% of the UK’s registered charities are small, with an income of £1m or less per year? Many, like Chichester Cinema, operate on much less, yet their impact on local communities is immense. As a small charity in the arts sector, we pride ourselves on being agile, responsive, and deeply connected to our community. Our size allows us to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and tailor our offerings to meet the unique needs of our audience — this means featuring new as well as retro works, for example, our recent Cult of Cinema series which wraps up this week with the brilliant Trainspotting 🎟 https://lnkd.in/eeWPk5FY However, the landscape for independent cinemas remains challenging. Many are still grappling with the after-effects of the pandemic, and the recent Writers and Screen Actors Guild strike has added further uncertainty. According to the Independent Cinema Office, the post-pandemic recovery has been slow, with audience numbers not yet back to pre-COVID levels, highlighting the need for ongoing support. Despite these challenges, our passion for cinema and our commitment to the community drive us forward. We continue to offer a diverse range of films, from independent gems to global masterpieces, and an education programme for children and adults — all ensuring that the magic of cinema remains accessible to all. Your support helps us to survive and keep bring the best of cinema to Chichester. ↪️ Ways that you can support us: https://lnkd.in/eExKnzbW Make a pledge and show your LOVE for smaller charities ... ❤️ #SmallCharityWeek #SupportSmallCharities #ChichesterCinema #IndependentCinema #ArtsSector #CommunityImpact

Thinking outside the FOXp2 "Are you unwrapping the language and storytelling gifts at the center of our DNA?" What skills are you sharpening this week to deepen your sense of purpose, grow the effectiveness of your role, or help you in the pursuit of meaning? The clues 🔍 as to which skills to develop might be found at the centre of the magic you are weaving while mastering your craft, or when you find yourself: 1. "In a state of productive Flow" - Business 2. "In the Zone" - Sport 3. "In a time dilation" - Life Personally, I L😍VE Stories; they move us, connect us, educate, and entertain us. I'm no anthropologist, but I read recently about a FOXP2 gene important for the development of speech and language in humans. Woven into the fabric of our DNA, it is in part, responsible for our ability to tell stories at the biological level and influence our tribes. I don't have the knowledge or experience to speak about deep biology but I think it is fair to say that stories, legends, and fables have been key to human innovation, movement, and progression since the dawn of time. The ability to convey an idea has always been a superpower, but in 2024, how is that skill evolving in this diverse and ubiquitous world of social media and information exchange? The collaboration with the superb staff at Jane Tomlinson's Run For All and my team at RAM Films over the weekend was a reminder of the "power of sport" as a wonderful storytelling platform. The Marathon events were an example of an underlying narrative thread of care and empathy, augmented with physical expression and collective "action." This one minute video is a snapshot of a day where thousands of individual emotive stories were told, born out of the narrative phrase: "RUN FOR A MATE, WITH A MATE. The day was another highlight in my 27 years at Headingley AMT and the community spirit and social impact left behind, is an immeasurable treasure. I wonder what stories you might share this week, which method you will use to tell them, on which platform, and how it will influence your tribe over time? Top of my continuing skills acquisition list this week: 1. Listening 👂🏾 2. Writing 🖊️ 3. Speaking 🗣️ Another story telling marathon from the guys at RAM Films 🎥👇🏾
😍 WOW WOW WOW, what can we say, you did it again #Leeds! Congratulations to Jane Tomlinson's Run For All for putting on another spectacular event for the city! A day filled with love as people came together to raise some much needed cash for their chosen charities! A massive congratulations to everyone who took part either as a participant or a volunteer. Special thanks as always to Siobhan Curtis & Olivia Hester for your guidance and professionalism throughout. 👀 Keep your eyes peeled for the full edit but here's a short version to whet your appetite! #Film #CorporateEvents #liveevents #filmmaking #documentary #branding #Visionmix #production #videography #canon #canonfilm #editing #edit #education #university #travel #promotion #promotional #products #branding #brandidentity Tristan Batley-Kyle Clarion Solicitors
