Last week, I had the privilege of participating as a speaker at the BOUN+3 career event organized by BÜMED Öğrenci. It was incredibly inspiring to connect with bright and enthusiastic fellow chemical engineering students and share insights into university life and career journeys. I would like to thank Hamza Gül for his polite invitation and successful moderation, and all participants for their thoughtful questions. Looking forward to more opportunities to connect and share experiences with future generations of chemical engineers! #AlumniEngagement #ChemicalEngineering #BoğaziçiUniversity

𝗗𝗼 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘀? In case you missed the live interview, I am glad that CNA 938 has shared it online. Thanks to the producers Jon Christian Silva , presenters Daniel Martin and Lance Alexander for the opportunity to share my HR and employer perspectives. It is also great to connect with another interviewee, Adrian Choo The Career Strategist in this virtual interview. My sharing from the HR perspective is from 18:20 onwards on the following questions:. Does the employer prefer to hire someone who been through polytechnic than A level? If you are on a junior college route, you are on a journey towards a degree and not ready to go to the job scene. Hence, for someone with a polytechnic education, are they more equipped and ready to take on the working life? Do you think the polytechnic students who enter the workforce are more willing to upskill and reskill ? https://lnkd.in/gx67E7us #jasmineliew #breakthroughcatalyst #upskilling #reskilling #career

Are student jobs really that important? 👩🎓 On 19.04.2024 we had the honor to be present at the Night of Training through our sister company Mangelberger Elektrotechnik GmbH. Here we presented our working student jobs. But how useful is it to work alongside your studies if it means cutting back on free time 🎢 or important study time? 📚 We see working 💻 parallel to your studies as an excellent development opportunity for all students. The practical application of what they have learned deepens their understanding of the subjects they are studying. Teamwork 👬 and dealing with criticism have been shown to increase emotional intelligence. By applying what you learn during your studies, you can develop innovative solutions 💬 for the company and fulfill your own drive for self-actualization. Overall, as a student, you have the opportunity to build your future path 🗺 to success early on. #workingstudent #energiemonitoring #AIKI #Machinelearning #edisonstreet

As VP of People & Culture at UVU, I often reflect on how my own college education has shaped my personal and professional life. Here are a few key benefits I’ve experienced: Diverse Coursework: The broad spectrum of classes I took exposed me to various disciplines—literature, science, economics, and more. This well-rounded education enriched my perspective and made me a informed individual. Interpersonal Skills: College provided a platform to interact with diverse people—classmates, professors, and professionals. Learning to collaborate with different personalities and backgrounds has been invaluable for my career. Career Opportunities: Earning a degree opened doors to better job prospects and increased earning potential. Employers recognize the value of education, and it pays off in the long run. Persistence and Achievement: Completing both my undergrad and graduate degrees required dedication and perseverance. It taught me resilience and the satisfaction of accomplishing a significant goal. It's a privilege to work in higher education and be part of helping others now take advantage of these life-changing opportunities. #NationalHigherEducationDay

Industrial visits for college students are organized after considering individual requirements. Depending on the curriculum, visits are planned in consultation with teachers. Let's look at some of the beneficial aspects of an industrial visit. Industrial visits are also a great way to gauge career readiness. Industrial visits are an essential part of the academic curriculum in most of the Graduate and Post-graduate courses. Being a part of interactive learning, such educational visits give students a major exposure to real working environments along with a practical perspective of a theoretical concept relevant to their domain. In addition to that, industrial visits bridge the widening gap between theoretical learning and practical exposure by giving students the first-hand exposure to identify the inputs and outputs for different business operations and processes performed at the workplace. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #designthinking

#WomanofAMPP Spotlight 💡 If Principal Investigator / Chemical Engineer Janice Lebga-Nebane could describe the "Women of AMPP" community in one word, it would be "dynamic." 🧨 For Janice, the most rewarding part of being a Woman of AMPP is having the opportunity to participate in deploying a holistic approach to improve careers, educate, empower, advocate for and mentor fellow women of AMPP and beyond. When asked what she would say to inspire younger women and girls to pursue a career in the Materials Protection Industry, she replied: "The Materials Protection industry, amongst other things, is about prolonging and optimizing the life cycle of assets all around us. It is a diverse field that is challenging yet extremely rewarding. I encourage young girls to find mentors very early on, participate in internships, shadow Materials Protection Scientists and experts, and become members of AMPP: Association for Materials Protection and Performance as soon as possible." Thank you, Janice, for all you do in our industry! 👏 #AMPP #WomenofAMPP #ChemicalEngineer #WomenInSTEM #IWD2024 #InternationalWomensDay #IndustryInsight

Can’t agree more! 🙌 You can find an Engineering College in every “Gali Nukkad” now! 🙂 And atleast one Engineer in every “Chai ki Tapri”! It’s simple demand and supply Rule! Nothing will happen by blaming the companies! Atleast they are giving employments! 🙂 And every college shows “100%” placements! Even if a single placement is of 5000/- INR 🙂 Forget about “Skilled Engineers”! Do these colleges even have “Skilled Faculties” ? The System should focus on “Quality” than “Quantity”! 🙌 Everything is not #dhanda!
