Mark's thoughts on the Apple Vision Pro sparked a realization... for me, Meta Quest 3 still wins this round. Here's why: 1. Value Proposition: Quest 3 delivers the full package – gaming, social connection, even fitness – at a price most can swallow. Vision Pro seems aimed at "early adopter" status, not widespread use. 2. Practicality: Vision Pro's focus on passthrough vs. pure VR and its hefty weight feel limiting. Quest 3 excels in longer, more active sessions. 3. Ecosystem: Quest 3's content library is a beast. Apple needs time to catch up, and in VR, the network effect is HUGE. Devs (and users) go where the action is. 4. Price Point: Vision Pro is a luxury. For mass impact, devs will target Quest 3's wider audience. That's just smart business. Don't hear me wrong – Vision Pro has impressive tech. Why has VR yet to reach the tipping point where there's a headset in every home & everyone is "immersing" regularly the way we stream or view? After months of using my Meta Quest 2 & enjoying many experiences of every kind, I now find myself having to overcome a reluctance to go in ... though I'm always happy when I do. Why: 1) CLAMPING that thing on my head (elite strap) & the weight of it after a time 2) dealing with fogged lenses & all kinds of little glitches in the start-up 3) headache & dry eye/eye strain after about an hour (discomfort increases steadily with time) 4) the lack of decent tutorials for anyone coming new to this tech & that would be a lot of people, not just the older generations. Yes there are newer models that counter some of these complaints but they cost a small fortune. You won't get a tipping point with those prices. #XR #immersive #MetaQuest #AppleVisionPro
