This morning, I thought we would do a little summary on the first week of Q2 #earnings. We will have much more to add as firms continue to report in the upcoming days. Until then... see below. So far, in the S&P500, we have had about 65 firms report. Of those, the average #revenue was reported was $10.1 Billion. Those same 65 firms reported average revenue of $9.7 B in Q2 2023. That is about a 4.5% increase year over year. Corporate profits? As measured by Net Income under US-GAAP, the same 65 firms reported an average profit of $1.47B in Q2 2024 versus $1.31B in Q2 2023 for an increase of about 12% year over year. New Dedicated Unit and Initiatives from World Bank Mark Major Advancement in Global Road Safety In a landmark move, the The World Bank has established a dedicated #RoadSafetyUnit, making it the first #multilateraldevelopmentbank (MDB) to do so. This development underscores the World Bank's unwavering commitment to addressing the #globalroadsafetycrisis. #Roadcrashes result in almost 1.2 million #deaths every year and are the leading cause of #death for #children and #youngadults aged 5-29. According to the World Health Organization, 92% of all #fatalities occur in low and #middleincomecountries. Nicolas Peltier-Thiberge, the World Bank's Director of Transport, emphasized the significance of the new #roadsafetyunit, stating, "#Roadtrafficcrashes are preventable tragedies with an unacceptably high toll for developing countries. The World Bank is a big supporter of the #globalroadsafety agenda, and we regularly work with client countries to make #roadstransport #safer for all users. The establishment of this new #roadsafetyunit demonstrates our dedication to this issue, which we aim to elevate to an even higher priority level."
