A new Manatt Health report by Alex Morin, Deborah Bachrach, Annie Fox, Darrell G. Kirch, M.D. and Joy Madubuonwu, MPH evaluates #reproductivehealth and women’s health outcomes in Texas following the Dobbs v Jackson ruling. The study—which utilized state-wide surveys of practicing OB/GYN physicians and resident physicians, and interviews with current physicians, resident physicians, educators and residency programs directors in Texas—analyzes the Texas #OBGYN physician workforce and the impact of the state’s #abortion laws on the workforce development pipeline. Family physicians are uniquely placed to understand what research can improve the healthcare system's ability to provide equitable patient-centered primary care. The generalist and community-oriented nature of the specialty affords family physician researchers an expansive view of the healthcare system and enables them to target impactful, systems-level change. Epic Yale New Haven Health - Good progress. I'd still like you all to consider the whole person at once instead of just the presented symptoms, labeled condition, etc. as you said in your post "...Using Epic, clinicians can automatically generate care plans for patients with a specific issue, like COVID-19 or alcohol use disorder...." - These conditions, as well as all other "conditions" are multi-faceted having physical/emotional/psychological/environmental/personality/culture/etc. components which are all interconnected and create "health" or the lack thereof. Some day, I'd like you to think about holistic diagnosis and treatment looking at the "big picture" around symptoms/maladies. Perhaps the patient could enter a profile into an EHR (like Epic) and AI could provide a draft holistic personalized diagnosis/treatment analysis. Just an idea from a patient/healthcare consumer (me).
