🧑🔬 We're back with more UX research results here at Planfix! Recently, we discovered that our newbies were having trouble recognizing the option to add reminders in the task creation form (and sometimes even missing it altogether). So, we decided to change things up a bit. 📎 We split the "Attach..." field into individual fields, just like in the old version. Now, you can add, hide, or move these fields individually to more visible places, giving you much more control over customizing your task creation form. #interface #planfix #usability

Extending the Norman Door metaphor.... - Building a pull door with no handles = unusable feature delivery. - Building a pull door with pull handles on both sides = feature delivery with poor UX. - Building a pull door with only a push/hsup sign = MVP delivery; the user has to work harder to use the feature. - Building a door with a push handle, pull handle, and clear push/pull signage = feature delivery with good user experience. Digital projects start with a goal of good user experience, and often end with mvp delivery. Delivery is hard. We get fatigued and lose sight of the goals we started out to achieve. Digital delivery has shifted towards doing the bare minimum (MVP), rather than focusing on providing a quality experience for customers.

"More Features ≠ Better UX" More buttons, more options, more everything—because users love choice, right? 🤷♀️ Wrong. Too many features turn your product into a Swiss Army knife no one knows how to use. 🛠️ Users don’t want to feel like they’re defusing a bomb when trying to navigate your design. Great UX isn’t about piling on features; it’s about delivering the right ones. Simplify, prioritize, and let users breathe. P.S. Sometimes, less really is more—unless we’re talking about pizza toppings. 🍕 #UXDesign #UXMyths #KeepItSimple #DesignHumor #UserExperience

I used to think that the more features I added, the better the product would be. But over time, I’ve learned that simplicity is often the most powerful design choice. It’s not about stripping things away; it’s about focusing on what’s truly essential. When users aren’t overwhelmed by too many options, they can accomplish tasks quickly and easily. Every time I simplify a design, I see users engaging with it more effortlessly—and that’s what great UX is all about. #SimpleDesign #Minimalism #UXBestPractices #DesignThinking

Have you heard of the Bento UX trend? Bento box design typically involves breaking the interface into distinct modules or compartments, similar to the compartments in a traditional Japanese bento box. Each module contains specific content or functionality, making it easier for users to navigate and understand the interface. This design layout ensures that responsiveness is at the core, adapting seamlessly to fit your screen. Swipe left to read more! #rootcodestudio #uiux #uxdesign #userexperience

🧠 This Week’s UX Term: Cognitive Load When users are bombarded with too much information or complex navigation, they’re more likely to feel frustrated or disengaged. Here’s how to design for reduced cognitive load: 1. Use clear and consistent layouts. 2. Prioritize essential information. 3. Guide users with thoughtful visual hierarchy and clear CTAs. Remember, simplicity isn’t about stripping things down—it’s about making experiences effortless and enjoyable. What’s an example of a product that keeps cognitive load in check? #CognitiveLoad #UXDesign #UserExperience #TheEggwhite
