Congratulations to Daniel on being chosen as NSSRA's Camp Staff of the Week. 🌟 He has been nominated by three different staff for all of his hard work. Daniel is brand new to the field and fully embraces therapeutic recreation. He has had to change camp locations and camper groupings and work with new people he's never met without missing a beat.👏 Daniel is willing to learn and implement new skills every day, which has been very helpful for our campers. (He also rides his bike 45 minutes each way to work each day!) His dedication to his camp is second to none. We are grateful to have staff like Daniel on our team.

This week has felt like a turning point, with the finish line in sight for several projects. After a year on maternity leave, it’s taken time to find my footing in a role that, like so many things, has evolved. This is the first time in over a year that I’ve faced deadlines, managed projects, and collaborated with a number of teams. Interestingly, I’ve found many of the skills from parenting transfer seamlessly into the workplace and vice versa! Pressure is an intriguing concept. Projects ebb and flow depending on the organisation’s priorities, and while I used to view pressure as a negative, I’ve come to appreciate it differently. When applied constructively, pressure is a sign of ambition and the drive to succeed. It can motivate and focus us, making those approaching deadlines feel more like milestones of achievement. As the year end approaches, I’m finding satisfaction in seeing projects through from start to finish for the first time since my return. It’s a little like riding a bike, you never forget, but there’s a moment of doubt before you realise it all comes back. This phase has given me a chance to reflect on my approach to projects, whether working solo or collaboratively. Each project coming to its conclusion is a reminder of the effort we’ve contributed toward leading our aquatics community to safe, enjoyable, and successful experiences. #learntoswim #swimengland #oneswimengland

What does it mean by following your passion in career pursuit? Ta’Shelya Bynum, recreational sports specialist at HCC Southwest, offers her advice. “Pursue what you're passionate about, rather than focusing solely on the financial benefits a degree might offer. If you do what you love, work can feel like a day of fun and be more relaxing. It's important to find something you can see yourself doing for 30 years, so it doesn't feel like a chore to go to work every day.” #HCC #HCCSouthwest #RealWorldEducation #WeAreHCC #StudentLife #StudentSuccess #Education #HigherEducation #CollegeLife #LearningSkills #StudyTips #AcademicSuccess

Last year, I joined a team of coworkers for an overnight trail relay race. It was to be a fun time of trail running, camping, and good outdoor fun. And it was...until the sky opened up with rain for almost 12 hours straight through the overnight hours. The trails went from dry to damp to wet to muddy and stayed that way. It was awesome! Unfortunately, one of our teammates got injured during his first run segment and had to withdraw. As a team, we came up with a plan to cover the extra running and keep the team moving while still allowing each to sleep a little between outings. As the conditions worsened, each of us leveraged our experience, skill, and equipment to navigate the course, stay safe, and help each other. We faced into the waves of torrential rain, running muddy hills with occasionally shin-deep mud, helping each other stay warm, fed, and motivated. There was no staying dry! In the end, we came together, took care of business, and celebrated the result we earned. If you work in a team environment, you've likely had a situation where a teammate struggled and the team had to absorb the work. A healthy team handles setbacks with grace, making space for mistakes, bad luck, misfortune, and life to happen to team members. Each team member steps up and helps with their experience, skill, and equipment. It's still frustrating to take on extra work, especially when you're already loaded. If you trust your team, you'll be more willing to help cover the gaps because its the right thing to do, knowing that one day you might be the one in need. If you don't trust your team, the story can be very different. If you're on a dysfunctional team, the story can be very different...will likely be very different. I'm grateful to be on a wonderful team at work that inspires me to aim high and drive outstanding outcomes every day.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work! 🚣♂️☀️ You know what they say - a boat moves fastest when everyone's rowing together. And that's exactly what we did at our Team Pace 2024 Summer Day Out! We had an absolute blast hitting the water; bonding over some friendly competition and toasting to all the achievements we’ve made as a team so far this year. Just like on the river, we navigate the choppy waters of the HR world as one tight-knit crew. And while some of us may have discovered a hidden talent for rowing, others… let’s just say, found new ways to make a splash! 😄 Here’s to many more successful voyages ahead, where our collective coordination (or occasional lack thereof) steers us to success! 🌊 Celebrating New Beginnings in our OA Community! I want to extend a huge congratulations to all the newcomers who jumped into the water recently. It’s inspiring to see so many people stepping out of their comfort zones and trying something new! At Ordinarily Active, we believe in the power of support, encouragement and fostering a place where people are safe and can grow #strongertogether. Whether you're a seasoned swimmer or just starting out (trying something new), remember that the key to progress is to relax, breathe, and embrace the environment. (Applies outside of the water too) Here are a few reminders for everyone: 1. Stay Relaxed: The more comfortable you are, the more you can connect with the water. 2. Engage with Others: Share tips and experiences; learning from each other is invaluable. 3. Embrace New Gear: Finding the right equipment, like goggles, can make all the difference in your experience. As we support one another in this journey, let’s continue to foster an environment where everyone feels welcome to explore new challenges. 💧 And don’t forget, if you want to live boldly I encourage you to connect and look at our Bold Heart Coaching programme that helps you align you values and take the first step towards living boldy. #CommunitySupport #TryNewThings #OpenWaterSwimming #SwimTogether #LifelongLearning #Encouragement

🌟 Team building at ECES! 🌟 At ECES, fostering teamwork among our team members is key to achieving corporate and personal goals. A working environment built on mutual trust and friendship among its members helps to focus on the goal and be united in achieving it. This is why we organised a table football tournament and a football match to promote team building and the opportunity to get to know each other outside the office, thus forging relationships beyond good cooperation in terms of work. A united team is an effective team. All this not only makes the working environment extremely pleasant, but it also contributes to our physical fitness. 😉 It is a win-to-win relationship. 😂💪 🚀 Let's continue to support each other and maintain the team spirit! #TeamBuilding #ECES #WorkCulture #eces #eces4electoralsupport #electoralsupport
