The prevalence of school police departments has more than doubled over the past two decades to a point where school district police departments account for nearly 20% of all sworn school resource officers in the country. What happened in Uvalde should have been a tipping point to prove further that police, including school police departments, do not keep students safe. Advancement Project’s A Cop is A Cop report is a comprehensive guide outlining why the increasing trend of school police departments only creates violence, not safety.
our new brief, 'A Cop is A Cop: the rise of school district police departments and why they must be dismantled,' documents the alarming, rapid growth of school districts setting up their own police forces -- disproportionately policing Black and Latine students. These are not "special" police. Instead of safety, these school district police departments embed surveillance, harm, and violence into schools, criminalizing and assaulting students in these districts. LA and Oakland organizers are leading the way in reversing this trend.

Are you KIDDING me? Oakland - a sanctuary city - decided to solve its budget crisis by laying off 70 police officers, closing fire stations, & reducing library hours. Yeah... because that's a great idea. REPOST and show everyone what the left is doing to our cities! #thinblueline #lawenforcement

Deliberate and calculated to allow chaos to run rampant. Absolutely sickening. Cut and eliminate city councilors who are redundant and save money that way, not essential services. Idiots. Corruption first, citizens last. 🤔💭🤔 Democrats are going out with a bang, creating chaos not stopping it. Same thing happening in Canada and our official election is only next October in 2025 and the corrupt liberals and ndp are trying to postpone our election so their buddies in their parties will qualify for a lifetime pension. Total corruption running our country for the past nine years. libs in Canada = democrats in the US. 🤔💭🤔

Community policing at its finest.
Kemah Police Officers were a wonderful addition to Sunday's Easter Eggstravaganza at the Jimmie Walker Community Center. Officers Hopkins and Mancillas interacted with families, took pictures with the kids, and even paid a visit to a special bunny. Thank you, KPD! KEMAH POLICE DEPARTMENT

First responders in Law Enforcement enhance community safety every day. Officers practice Procedural Justice, including the Ithaca Police Department because that is what good officers do. PJ leads to police legitimacy, builds trust, and ultimately safer communities. Voice, Neutrality, Respect, and Trust #principledpolicing #communitytrust #communitypolice #safety
Ithaca Police has positions for lateral transfers and new officers to serve the community. (https://lnkd.in/e7yBDU6f) Thank you to the Cornell Daily Sun for sharing some of the important training Ithaca Police Officers do. #proceduraljustice #implicitbias #principledpolicing #IPDrecruitment
