Public Health 📍 important of Carriers in Disease epidemiology & Host ( amplifying hosts ) : This is how Public Helath is intresting ! 👉A story of Birds 🐦: As birds are always migrating from one loaction to another all over the World , and they might faced numbers of epidemiological and enivrnomental transiction at different placess, for the prepartion of nest and some other basic purpose they carry ticks & leaf infected with virus & rickettsiae and that may cause diseases in human ( Histoplasmosis). ● Its all define how animals migration & epizootological & epidemiological risk. ( And all of human kind must experince in Covid Pendamic now Human also participate in this procees to transmit infection by very simply traveling from country , new placess through diffrent mood ). ☆ Note : As "One Health" alwys reffelect with the Evidence that Genetic recombination between animal & human viruses might produce " New strain of viruses. We are thrilled to announce the publication of our latest article by AL-Eitan Lab in Reviews in Medical Virology (Q1, Wiley Publisher, Impact Factor: 12) titled "Epidemiology, Biosafety, and Biosecurity of Avian Influenza: Insights from the East Mediterranean Region." This comprehensive study examines the highly infectious Avian Influenza Virus, which affects poultry, pet birds, wild birds, non-human mammals, and occasionally humans. The article highlights serious health concerns posed by both low and high pathogenic avian influenza viruses in the Middle East, emphasizing the need for robust surveillance programs and biosecurity measures to prevent future outbreaks and endemics of new subtypes. It calls for reinforcement of health and research sectors in vulnerable countries and underscores the importance of public education on biosafety and virus prevention to minimize the spread of avian influenza. Regional Workshop on Outbreak Investigation for African Swine Fever and Basic Applied Epidemiology (Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (21 – 24 May 2024)) #ASF #FAO #workshop #BiH #outbreak #investigation #epidemiology FAO is implementing a Regional Emergency Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP) project on “Emergency Response to African swine fever outbreak in the Western Balkans”. Based on consultations with national authorities, capacity building in outbreak investigation for ASF and improving understanding, together with the use of epidemiology in the context of disease control were highlighted as needs. In response, the project is hosting a regional workshop on these topics with the aim of increasing capacities to carry out outbreak investigation and to utilize the epidemiological data gathered for improved understanding of disease spread and, hence, its control. The participants have been nominated from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia, from various organizations, levels, and geographic regions. The workshop aims to build technical knowledge and capacities in support of ASF. Participants will learn about: ● Good practices to carry out outbreak investigation in case of ASF; ● Risk factors for ASF introduction and spread; ● Use of epidemiological tools; ● Analysis of data generated by surveillance activities and epidemiological investigations. It was great to meet old friends and new colleagues!

Episode 114 of Conversations with Dr. Glogauer and Kim Ivan on avian influenza A(H5N1) is now available. Avian influenza A(H5N1), also known as bird flu, is a significant global health challenge due to its widespread circulation and high mortality rates. The recent cases of infection in humans and outbreaks in various domestic animals and birds, underscore the need to understand and monitor these viruses to assess their potential for increased transmissibility and pathogenicity. Listen to Episode 114 for discussion on topics such as: • Epidemiology, transmission, and risk to humans; • Signs and symptoms in humans and animals, including pets; and • Treatment, prevention, and the role of vaccines. Keynotes and 7 additional resources are provided to compliment learning, including several client resources.
