IMAGINATION 😵🐛🦋. Often we are surprised about the answers when we ask our friends, students or workshop participants the question, what their ideal life would look like. "You know, instead of 8 hours working, maybe share the workload with a colleague and have at least friday off too to have some more time with my family." NOT: "Having ultimate freedom in my life to choose when and where and how to work and live and share abundant time & resources with my community." (Just an example, you get the difference in scope 🌱). Our hearts and heads often get distracted from our inner voices of "ah but this is difficult" "Uh, how is this possible? Naaah.." "I cannot do that". People switch to the problem-mind faster than we can count to 3. GUYS YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO THINK ABOUT THE WAY TO GET THERE YET haha, because that's where the voices get so super loud 🧠🔨🔊! Staying in our imagination and dreaming state is a practice. It's crucial to move forward into a regenerative future. It requires freeing ourselves from limiting beliefs, deep reflection and often somatic practices to get them out of our nervous system and bodies 💭🧘♂️💃🐳. All of it and so much more is part of our teachings of living systems thinking, which repeatedly will ask you: but what COULD BE? What is the highest potential of your life and your surrounding ecosystems? We believe our new living systems thinking offers and consultings will be a great gift to many heads, hearts and nervous systems - filled with all the learnings from the past years of consulting, teaching, learning and regenerating! #WeekNote 6 (28-03-24) Single sentence edition ahead of the big unplug for the long weekend. 3 good things... 😁 👍 Reconnecting with an old colleague and starting to sketch out ideas for a potential collaboration on a digital health project that could revisit some of the work I did in tech for cardiac rehab back in my old phd days 🤞 👍The funny and disorienting feeling when you see an old roller derby rival for the first time in over ten years (!!!) own the stage at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery Vision:Speaker Series; Cait Milberry was a fabulous speaker and I look forward to learning more about the work of Milberry Marketing & Strategy next time I'm in Saint John.   👍Spending Tuesday with an inspiring group of community changemakers reflecting on the past 12 months of the Reimagining Access to Sports, Recreation, and Leisure project and co-designing the next iteration of the System Shifters. 2 challenges 😬 👎Missing the System Shifters who couldn't participate in the Tuesday session; especially those who are no longer involved in the project, and hoping that we can honour their work, their stories, and their hopes for their communities as we move into year 3. 👎 Being an excitable extrovert in a position of power doesn't always lend itself to creating space for others to lead; learning how to step back while still providing support is definitely a work in progress. 1 upcoming thing I'm excited about 😍 👏 A long weekend spending time with friends, books, and bikes.
