It’s always inspiring to see organizations like Client Solution Architects(CSA) recognize the contributions of veterans. As someone who has navigated the transition from military service to civilian life, I understand the importance of finding an employer who doesn’t just see your service as a line on a resume but values the leadership, resilience, and dedication veterans bring to the table. Employers like CSA spotlight veterans, honor their sacrifices and actively create opportunities for them to show what genuine support looks like. For veterans, finding these companies can make all the difference—not just in building a career but in finding purpose and belonging after service. To my fellow veterans: Look for employers who don’t just talk about support but demonstrate it through action. Employers who understand the challenges we face and are willing to work alongside us to build meaningful careers. Thank you, Jerome Peterson, for sharing your story and reminding us of the enduring legacy veterans create. Let’s keep building connections between veterans and employers who genuinely care. #Veterans #CareerTransitions #EmployersThatCare #Leadership #ThankYouVeterans
In this week's #FridayFeature, we highlight Veteran Sgt—Jerome J. Peterson, Jr., as part of our celebration of #VeteransandMilitaryFamilyMonth. Jerome shares an inspiring message on the courage and selflessness that characterize our nation's veterans. As we continue to spotlight CSA's heroes this month, let us remember their sacrifices, leadership, and contributions that build an enduring legacy for future generations. 🇺🇸 #CSA #Veterans #ThankYouVeterans

🎖 Honoring Veterans and Celebrating Legacy As we reflect on service and sacrifice, I want to share a few things that being a Veteran taught me—lessons that extend well beyond the military. During my time in uniform, I learned about discipline, resilience, and teamwork in ways that shape how I approach every challenge. Military life didn’t just prepare me to serve my country—it taught me how to approach every aspect of my life with purpose and integrity. From strategic planning to mentoring others, these lessons continue to guide my journey. Today, I apply those same principles in helping teams and individuals craft their own visions and build paths to their goals. Veterans have unique perspectives that bring resilience and resolve to any environment, and I’m proud to carry that legacy forward in my work. Veterans Day is a reminder that service doesn’t end when we leave the military. It’s about applying what we’ve learned and continuing to make an impact—whether on a team, in a community, or in personal growth. To my fellow Veterans—how has your service shaped your journey? Let’s share and celebrate the ways we’re all still making a difference.

The best veteran community networking this side of the Mississippi! Come out and build your network. Here are five tips for someone attending a networking event: 1. **Set Goals**: Before the event, decide what you want to achieve. Are you looking to meet potential employers, find a mentor, or simply learn more about a particular industry? Setting clear goals will help you focus your efforts and choose the right people to engage with. 2. **Prepare an Elevator Pitch**: Have a brief, compelling personal statement prepared that you can use to introduce yourself. This pitch should be no longer than 30 seconds and cover who you are, what you do, and what you're looking for. Tailor it to your audience or the specific context of the event. 3. **Ask Open-Ended Questions**: When you engage in conversations, ask questions that encourage a detailed response, rather than simple yes or no answers. For example, ask about challenges in the industry, recent trends, or the projects they're currently working on. This not only keeps the conversation flowing but also shows your interest and engagement. 4. **Listen Actively**: Show genuine interest in what others are saying. Active listening involves maintaining eye contact, nodding, and interjecting with thoughtful questions or comments that show you're engaged and understand the conversation. 5. **Follow Up**: After the event, make sure to follow up with the people you met. Send a personalized email or connect with them on professional social media like LinkedIn. Mention specific details from your conversation to remind them who you are, reinforcing the connection and potentially leading to further dialogue. By using these tips, you can maximize the benefits at the VBC and build meaningful professional relationships. Let’s go!

Killer summit, killer team. (A million miles outside my workday wheelhouse - Talk to Lori Meyer/Corey Young about the freight ops/transportation logistics of it all if/when needed. They're darned marvelous coaches.) #freight #freightforwarder #freightbroker #shipper #supplychain #pharma #pharmaceuticals #hazmat #hazardousmaterials #logistics #operations
I finally got around to pulling the footage from our recent team summit! A special thank you to Lori Meyer for making this possible. The teams and their families had a blast! Building relationships is what we are all about. No one succeeds alone! Thank you also to 10th Mountain Division, United States Army. I was honored to ski behind our troops carrying the colors down Ski Cooper. Truly something I won't forget!

Sean Mahoney joined WIN Waste in March 2024 as a Performance Engineer and is a member of the WIN Military Community. In addition to his role at WIN, Sean serves as a Strategic Sealift Officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, using his experience as a licensed Merchant Marine Officer to serve as an Engineering Officer aboard Combat Logistics Fleet ships. He also serves as a Tactical Advisor aboard merchant ships carrying military cargo, advising crews in contested maritime environments. With 7 years of service and 3 deployments, Sean’s military career has shaped his understanding of commitment, sacrifice, and resilience. ⭐Branch: U.S. Navy ⭐Rank: O-3 Lieutenant ⭐Years of service: 7 ⭐Deployments: Operation Karat 2018, Native Fury 2020, Defender Europe 2021, and multiple Joint Logistics Over the Shore exercises ❤️ What Sean wants those without military experience or connections to know: “Serving goes beyond just a career. It’s a life-defining commitment, and that commitment comes along with demands that are mental and emotional. Many veterans carry experiences that are challenging to explain, and adjusting to civilian life is an ongoing process. So, recognizing the sacrifices made by service members and their families is important and a willingness to listen can make a real difference.” 🤍 How the military has affected Sean’s personal life: “You spend a lot of time away from home, missing out on events and holidays. As a sailor, I spent a significant amount of time at sea and that can be extremely isolating. You often don’t have any kind of communication back home and are just no contact for long periods of time, which can be difficult for everybody. You may expect to return on a certain date, but it usually ends up being a lot longer than you planned. You kind of end up putting your life on hold until you get back, which can take a toll over time.” 💙 Sean’s perspective on transitioning back to civilian life: “It’s a big change going from that regimented lifestyle where everything is planned out and executed at a certain time to going to civilian work where there is more freedom and you’re more on your own. That took me awhile to get used to. As far as advice, don’t be afraid to ask questions as you learn how to adjust to that.” Thank you for your service, Sean. #VeteransDay #employeespotlight

Not too many organizations highlight the value of military talent in the workplace: Here are 3 reasons you would love to have them on your team… 1. Disciplined Work Ethic: Military veterans bring unparalleled discipline to the workplace. Their training in following through on missions despite challenges ensures that they are reliable and focused employees. 2. Leadership Under Pressure: Veterans often have experience in leadership roles under high-stress conditions. This makes them adept at managing teams and making strategic decisions quickly and effectively. 3. Adaptability: Veterans are trained to adapt to new environments and situations rapidly. Our veterans are waiting to be remembered part 16 `In Australia`, David Russell, our 4everstory ambassador, is here to ensure we do just that. In a remarkable series of twenty short few minutes videos, David, a 104-year-old WWII Navy Veteran, shares a captivating stories and moments that would have otherwise been lost to time forever, recounts his extensive journey from a farm in Nebraska to the high seas and beyond. His vivid stories from the USS Oklahoma in Pearl Harbor to the USS Mahan in Singapore, he defied December 7th twice, and serene days in Oregon, revive a past that was at risked being forgotten between two dates and dash. Why share this just now? A poignant encounter three weeks ago between our Director of Sales, John Jackson (a former Petty Officer 2nd Class in the US Navy), and David sparked this initiative. Their conversation, meant to be a simple inquiry about David’s naval experiences, turned into a powerful moment of recognition and remembrance beyond what we could have ever imaged. This interaction, along with similar stories shared by over a hundred veterans we've spoken to, highlighted a common thread: all they ask is to be remembered. As Veterans Day approached, we realized that mere few videos and shares isn't enough. We needed to immortalize these histories. Thus, we crafted a series of digital tributes with photos, videos, words, audios, timelines and much more, to honor David through 4everstory, where lifetimes are preserved and treasured memories live on forever. This is more than a project called Our Veterans are waiting to be remembered; it's our mission. Tomorrow, I'll share more about this, how to join us in creating 5,000 Veterans 4everstory’s by year's end, creating much needed supports, donations to supporter of veterans and a heartfelt connect that’s a world first interaction turning point for all! Yes, it's all a daunting task for sure, but as our veterans have shown us, no mission is too impossible to become possible. This mission like all missions, requires collaboration, networking, partnerships, sharing, and more. Why this urgency? great question: Did you know that this Veterans Day will be the last for over 400,000 veterans, THAT'S 400,000 American Heroes? Without our actions, their stories, and their legacies, are at risk of being lost or forgotten forever. If you feel the call to support or participate in preserving these invaluable stories, please reach out or just share this with other that could help our mission. Thank you, John.

Happy Veteran's Day! What is service? Why do we choose to serve? When talking to most veterans, a sense of duty comes into play... But what does that mean? I would like to think that setting a positive example for those around us would be one definition. As a father and business owner, I am constantly reminded every day of the importance of setting a good example. For military veterans, our experience provide important examples of how we can do this which translate to our everyday lives. - Leading from the front. As a person who wants to set a positive example and exact real change in this world, leading from the front is one of the most important things we can do. Leaders who expect their coworkers to do things that they wouldn't do themselves will never set the example needed, and will not retain quality people over the long term. - Leaders eat last. Make sure that those around you are taken care of prior to yourself. - Honor those who serve and continue to serve. Regardless of our own accomplishments, we need to help build others up so that they can accomplish more in their lives as well. The more we build people up, the more positive change ripples across the world. For those that have served... Thank You!

This Veterans Day, we reflect on the significance of saying, "Thank you for your service," a phrase that has become a symbol of gratitude towards our armed forces since the late 1990s. While its origins remain somewhat unclear, it stands as a collective acknowledgment of the sacrifices made by military personnel. The impact of this expression varies among veterans, with some finding it meaningful while others believe it falls short of capturing the full extent of their experiences. Recognizing the complexity of gratitude is crucial, as it can resonate differently with each individual. To truly honor our veterans, we should seek more personalized ways to show appreciation. Engaging in heartfelt conversations, actively listening to their stories, and supporting veteran initiatives create deeper connections and understanding. These actions go beyond mere words, offering genuine recognition of their service and sacrifices. This Veterans Day, let's go beyond the conventional and strive to honor our veterans in ways that deeply resonate with them. Let's cultivate a culture of respect and appreciation that transcends mere phrases, embodying our genuine gratitude and support for those who have served. #VeteransDay #ThankYouForYourService #HonorOurHeroes #SupportOurVeterans #Gratitude #MilitaryService #SacrificeAndService #VeteranAppreciation #RememberAndHonor #UnitedWeStand
