Thank you for your hard work, leadership, and being a fantastic colleague. We're so grateful to have you on the team!
It was an honor to have worked with Preetish Nijhawan and an even greater honor to have known him.
Preetish was the first one to truly believe in StackShare. We met in 2016 when I was fundraising. A small handful of investors wanted to be a part of the round but no one wanted to lead. Then Jocelyn Goldfein introduced me to Preetish and Neeraj Gupta and everything changed. Cervin ended up leading StackShare's seed round and investing $1M. It's hard to overstate how important that was for the company. Not only was it the largest investment we'd received, but at the time, being able to raise $1M+ as an unproven founder with no experience was extremely rare. Add to that, StackShare was focused on building a community so it wasn't the typical enterprise software company that Cervin invests in. In so many ways, Preetish made a huge bet on me.
Preetish joined StackShare's board as part of the seed round, and over the years he coached me and helped me learn how to run a company. And more importantly, he did it with compassion. Because he had been a founder himself, it always felt like he understood exactly what I was going through and the true weight of the decisions that I faced. I've said this before, but a lot of investors say that they're founder friendly, while few actually are. Preetish was one of the few. He showed me some tough love but he was always fair and gave it to me straight, and I respected him tremendously for that.
The level of dedication and compassion Preetish showed for founders was incredible. It didn't matter what time of day or what was going on in his own life, he always made my company a priority. Whether it was hopping on a quick call at 3am to give me advice or signing documents on the way back from a doctor's visit. There are countless stories I could tell from the 9+ years I knew Preetish that show how dedicated he was to supporting me, so I can't imagine how many other founders he's impacted throughout his career.
Preetish, thank you for changing the lives of so many founders, including mine.
It is with immense sadness that we share the passing of our co-founder, Preetish Nijhawan, this weekend.
Preetish's leadership and dedication were instrumental in shaping Cervin Ventures and the many portfolio companies he touched. His absence will be deeply felt by all of us.
Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Preetish's family. Thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time.

For a good appreciation sir, if someone does not fulfill his duty properly, he taught him how to discipline him to fulfill his duty. I believe that those who are working here, they will work from their responsibility as long as they work here. Besides, by doing this, everyone who will watch this video will learn from their own place.

Sucheta talks through the challenges that women of color face in the workplace, as well as why a lack of leadership role models results in a struggle to be authentic in their own leadership style.

The Misunderstandings of Monolingual Approaches: A Call for Change
For too long, many educators have advised bilingual parents to prioritize English at home, believing that it would help their children succeed academically. While often well-intentioned, this advice is not only outdated but can also harm students and families. Research shows that encouraging bilingualism benefits cognitive development, academic achievement, and emotional well-being.
When parents are told to focus solely on English, it dismisses the importance of their home language and culture. This not only puts unnecessary pressure on families but also risks alienating children from their linguistic heritage. Bilingualism is an asset, not a barrier, and students who maintain their home language alongside English often outperform their monolingual peers in the long run.
Instead of urging parents to prioritize English over their native language, educators should promote additive bilingualism—encouraging students to become fluent in both languages. Building literacy in the home language strengthens English acquisition, fosters confidence, and creates a bridge between school and family life.
It’s time to move away from the harmful misconception that English proficiency must come at the expense of other languages. We must empower families to nurture multilingualism and embrace the richness it brings to classrooms and communities. Educators can make the most impact by shifting from a deficit mindset to one that celebrates the diverse linguistic assets students bring to the table.

What an incredible experience at this year's #WomensLeadershipConference with New Sage Strategies, LLC
I had the opportunity to meet some inspiring new faces and reconnect with old friends. This year's event left me with some powerful takeaways:
- Never let fear hold you back from new opportunities.
- Focus on your "big 3" daily priorities to win at work and in life.
- Always stay true to your authentic self.
- If people think you're crazy, you might be onto something great!
- Imposter syndrome is often a sign that you’re growing.
Feeling deeply inspired and already looking forward to 2025!
