We almost adopted the wrong dog and it reminded me of the following: We buy on emotion and justify after with logic Fortunately we were equipped with recruitment selection strategies including a scorecard, an interview process and a debrief. We went to the shelter set on a chihuahua but ended up falling in love with this terrier. He checked almost all the boxes He’s healthy, friendly, spunky, cute and the right size, age and coat. And energetic. TOO energetic.  He’d been returned to the shelter previously because of this. Over the 2.5 hours we spent with him, the terrier hunting instinct never turned off.  Pacing, sniffing, scratching, chewing, jumping. If he were a candidate, he’d be great for a rat extermination-based startup.  But we’re looking for more of a Walmart greeter energy. A: A lot of people want to start at the top, but most of the time, it doesn't work like that. Experience takes time, so work hard and learn a lot, and you can get where you want to be. Q: Can you share a project or accomplishment you’re particularly proud of? A: Through process improvements in the warehouse, we've significantly increased our order accuracy rate this year. Q: If you could shadow anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why? A: That's an easy one: our president, Charles. I'd love to see how large and sometimes difficult decisions are made. I know there's a lot that goes into making a company successful! Q: What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day? A: During the week, I relax at home and watch TV.
