Namibia to Host 8th National ICT Summit, Focusing on Digital Transformation and AI The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) in Namibia is set to host the 8th National Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Summit from September 9-11, 2024, at the Mercure Hotel in Windhoek. This year's summit, themed "Building Resilience to 'Adapt or Die' in the Era of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence (AI)," will bring together industry leaders, experts, innovators, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss emerging trends and challenges in the ICT sector. The summit aims to position Namibia as a leader in the digital economy, ensuring that Namibians benefit from the opportunities presented by this evolving landscape. Dr. Audrin Mathe, Executive Director of MICT, highlighted Namibia's recent ranking by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as the ninth most prepared African nation for AI adoption in 2024, reflecting the country's progress in creating a conducive environment for AI and digital transformation.
