I am so proud of and gratified by this work. VA and VHA are working to improve services for the #Veterans they serve, a rapidly changing group with needs different than Veterans of prior conflict eras because of the changing nature of war. This study shows how VHA can encourage more Veterans to #ChooseVA, for example, by shifting the culture of delivering healthcare to model the experience people get with non-VA providers, continuing to develop the inclusivity of care available, and letting Vets know how qualified VHA specialists are. #VeteransHelpingVeterans
The Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA’s) Community Care program is designed to provide Veterans with timely access to care. However, rapidly increasing program costs have drawn attention from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Congress. Aptive and Artemis ARC surveyed VXC members to gain insight into Veterans' decision-making criteria for selecting community care over VHA care.
