Well as a meeting place for old and new friends it can not be beaten, if you are like the Roman mob and want to be entertained maybe it is not an amipheatre of activity, in some ways it is lowkey, in fact rail strikes etc hitting turnout, but the huge value of the quiet networking chats with complete strangers can not be beaten. Value of day one to me £50,000 of new business, and I am not an exhibitor or a Saas supplier!!! The value of a conference is what you are open to, the possibilities are endless and if you spend two days in one location with a couple of thousand top line decision makers … well things fall into place. So todays question are you an observer? Or a networker? Answer you should be both, you should be inhaling all that spins around you, and dive into conversations with known contacts and others you have never met. Intel feeds strategy. Which stranger will you be talking to today?

Real estate tech deal activity has clearly fallen off, but who is still doing deals? Thesis Driven is back with its biannual roundup of active real estate tech investors, this time featuring almost 50 firms - both proptech-focused and generalists with a real estate tech track record - active in the market. We did move a few firms to "no longer doing deals" based on a lack of apparent recent activity and community feedback. The big question is when and if generalist firms—which have historically put the biggest dollars behind real estate tech at the highest valuations—fall back in love with the category. It’ll probably require at least one big winner to emerge from the sector—like Airbnb and WeWork in the 2010s—to reignite anything close to 2021 levels of interest.
