With Election Day just around the corner, we want to urge our community to vote 'Yes' on Question 3. 💜What is Question 3?💜 Question 3 asks Rhode Islanders to approve $120 million in bonds to boost housing in the Ocean State. 💜What does Approval of Question 3 do?💜 It would provide the state with $80M to develop low and moderate income housing, $10M for community revitalization projects, $20M to develop low, moderate, and middle income housing, $5M for site acquisition for supportive housing, $4M for housing-related infrastructure, and $1M for municipal planning. 💜What does that MEAN though?💜 Bond funds will be used to ensure Rhode Islanders who are seeking affordable housing can find it. Specifically, it will enable low-income workers to afford a safe and permanent place to call home. It will help give Rhode Island’s homeless families the opportunity for a better quality of life. Reminder: Election Day is November 5th but Early Voting has already begun! Visit https://vote.sos.ri.gov/ to find your polling place and view a sample ballot.

The decision to house, or not house, grow or stagnate really becomes tied to the decisions community leaders make, don't, or are afraid to. The City of Rockford Illinois has published its draft Consolidated Plan and Analysis to the Impediments of Fair Housing Choice. Residents, nonprofits, business, and city staff have done the work to present this to our community for input. Will you do the work to add your comments and voice? I am asking you to get engaged and this post tells you how. Further, after this opportunity to engage, will you hold our elected officials accountable for approving the plan and then implementing the goals and strategies? Will we keep focus on increasing housing stock to meet the needs of our growing workforce? Its up to us to ensure political decisions align with data driven and best practice efforts to ensure Rockford is able to grow and thrive. Check out my Substack post, and please, please, please - get involved.
