At first you’ll be penalized in the military for displaying your personal life. If you like to read, write, paint, game, or do anything outside of the service other than drink, the macho military culture will kick in. It’s at this point you have one of two choices: 1. Say yeah that is stupid and stop 2. Be proud and normalize it 1 feels good. You want to be one of the boys. You want to be hard. 2 gets you closer to who you are and gives you better chance to get out of the service with some semblance of personality, likes, and interests. This contributes to why we don’t see more businesses started from AD folks. Dont throw water on your own fire or other people’s.

Since I’ve been back from the war, I’ve kept silent on social media, focusing on my family and work. Recently, a consultant I’ve been working with helped me find new meaning in the word ‘sharing.’ Sharing isn’t just about telling someone something; it’s a way of asking the listener to help bear some of the burden of what’s on the speaker’s mind and heart. Inspired by Ben Lang’s post about getting accountability from the crowd, I’d like to share what I’ll be posting and working on in the coming weeks: 1) Insights from #IronSwords from the perspective of a sniper in the reservist commando unit. 2) Positive stories related to #Israel and the Jewish people, because we all could use more light in our lives. 3) #SalesDevelopment strategies and tactics to help SDRs and sales professionals be more effective (and boring’s part in that). 4) #PersonalGrowth methods I’m exploring and implementing to improve various aspects of my life. 5) Summaries from the top books I read (aiming to read a book a month), because reading a valuable book should be more than just entertainment—it should be used in some way.
