Begs the question: do NZU prices have to be appreciably higher to force decarbonisation? If the answer is no, we have wasted millions and (worse) 15 years. If the answer is yes then forestry HAS to be removed to allow the price to rise. The article from Connor Rogers is spot on in terms of reality but the NZU market is not fit for purpose (heavy lifting) since emissions are euphemistically 'sticky'. The government, simon watts et al seem very comfortable with uncomfortable policies, so surely they won't mind curbing forestry? #climateemergency
