🤬 64% not happy about AI-generated customer service Do you agree with the findings in this recent Gartner survey? Came across an interesting article on The Register written by Richard Speed, link to the full article below. ➡️ 64% prefer companies avoid using AI in customer service ➡️ 60% fear it will make human contact harder ➡️ 42% concerned about incorrect responses ➡️ 53% would switch to a competitor if AI in customer service was used Industry reports seem to indicate users of AI to assist their role like the new technology and wouldn't be without it. I'm a huge advocate for AI and personally find Microsoft's Copilot an invaluable tool to help draft content, summarise meetings, create action lists etc. However, I can understand the perception that in customer service environments AI might be seen as a barrier or blocker from reaching a human agent. So far chatbots and IVRs have not been designed and deployed in the vast majority of cases to actually enhance customer service. But in today's modern contact centres, if customer facing digital services like chatbots and conversational AI IVRs are configured correctly they can add true value to organisations and drive up CSAT. Additionally if AI is integrated with the right knowledge bases, databases or data sources, responses should be high quality and correct. This is the intention with Microsoft's new Dynamics 365 Contact Center, a Copilot first cloud contact center, it's looking to utilise AI to drive digital and voice self service where possible, but when necessary route to the best possible skilled agent, providing them with chat/call summarisation to reduce repetition. In my industry I feel like we have a responsibility as trusted partners to clients to help them design, deploy and refine new Contact Centre technology to ensure the ultimate customer benefits, this new wave shouldn't be about agent cost reduction, it's about empower agents and customers.
